Trivia

Originally conceived as a vehicle for latina actress Mel Gorham, the original pilot was centered around Gorham as a wacky worker in a Florida souvenir shop who moved to New York and found herself at a diner surrounded by equally wacky characters. Before it aired, the network and producers decided Gorham wasn't the right fit for the series, and the show was retooled as more of an ensemble piece, with Constance Marie in the now-reduced role vacated by Gorham. I guess I am one of the only people who truly liked this show. Unlike others, it was the only show on that Thursday night line up that I tuned into see. I really like the characters and the interaction between them. Luckily I recorded a few of the episodes before it was cancelled and I still watched them today.
