Justice Leauge Doom Animated Movie Officially Announced!

12 December 2011 4:30 PM, PST | GeekTyrant | See recent GeekTyrant news »

Warner Bros. Animation continues to pump out movie straight to DVD DC Comics movies, and today it's been announced that they are developing Justice League Doom which will be inspired by Mark Waid's Tower of Babel storyline.

The story finds Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter, Cyborg and Batman on their heels when a team of super villains discover and implement the Dark Knight’s “contingency plans” for stopping any rogue Justice League member. The film stars the voice talent of Nathan Fillion,  Kevin Conroy, Michael Rosenbaum and Tim Daly.

The DC comics animated movie are hit and miss for me. Some I like other I hate. The most recently film I saw was Batmas: Year One, and even though the animation was good, I didn't care for how it was brought to life. The direction was off, especially with the voice acting.

Blu-ray review: Smallville The Final Season

13 November 2011 4:46 PM, PST | The Geek Files | See recent The Geek Files news »

It Wasn't very long after Tom Welling first appeared on our televisions as the teenage Clark Kent that fans started campaigning for him to play the next big-screen Superman.

Since then, Brandon Routh ended up taking the role in Bryan Singer's Superman Returns and Henry Cavill is starring in Zack Snyder's Man of Steel, now filming and due out in June 2013.

Ten years later, in Smallville's 10th season, Welling has at last had his chance to put on the red and blue costume and take to the skies.

It means the journey is finally over for Tom's self-doubting young hero - and for the audience who have watched for a decade as he gradually embraced his powers and his purpose to become Superman.

Faced with the unenviable challenge of wrapping up such a long-running superhero drama in a fitting fashion, the writers and producers have tried to »

Syfy to Unleash 'Rage of the Yeti': Watch 2 New Clips

10 November 2011 6:30 PM, PST | MoreHorror | See recent MoreHorror news »

by MoreHorror.com

All right, say what you will about cheesy Syfy Original monster movies, but there's always something entertaining about them. Yes the stories are far fetched, acting is sub-par and the CGI is overly bad. But aside from that, they are always a bit of a good time. Enter Rage of the Yeti.

A team of treasure hunters in the Arctic are tracked down by a killer snow monster. What about that doesn't sound fun? We've got two clips for you to check out below.

"Rage of the Yeti" stars Syfy channel vet David Hewlett of "Stargate Sg-1," "Stargate: Atlantis" and "Stargate Universe". Hewlett is directing the movie, which is his first monster film.

"Rage of the Yeti" premieres Saturday, November 12 at 9/8c on Syfy.

A team of treasure hunters in the Arctic are hunted down by a ferocious snow beast. Yes, this is a Syfy Original movie and we've got some clips for you. Sure, it may have some really bad CGI (check out the flame in the first clip), but we still can't get enough of these things.

"Rage of the Yeti" stars David Hewlett of "Stargate Sg-1," "Stargate: Atlantis" and "Stargate Universe," so he's familiar to Syfy watchers. He's also directing the project, which is his first monster movie.

"Rage of the Yeti" premieres Saturday, November 12 at 9/8c on Syfy and we can't wait to see the giant hairy beast pick off treasure hunters one by one. You know you love these films too. So, what is your favorite Syfy Original Movie? Let us know below.

Teryl Rothery's Brisbane Supanova Expo Q&A

8 November 2011 12:47 PM, PST | CapricaTV | See recent CapricaTV news »

Teryl Rothery was at the Supanova Pop Culture Expo in Brisbane earlier this week and some clips from her Q&A showed up on YouTube today.

The questions she was asked were mostly about Stargate Sg-1, but she also talked about a bunch of her other projects, including Caprica. She also explained why she hasn't made an appearance on Sanctuary yet. (Sanctuary's Amanda Tapping was also one of the regulars on Sg-1 and they both have a huge following from that show.)

Among the new projects that aren't listed on the IMDb, she mentions The Killing Game (the same Lifetime film with Brian Markinson that premiered last week, as it turns out) and says she also recently worked on Flicka 3 (Kacey Rohl is in that one, too).

The whole Q&A is pretty hilarious, check it out:

‘Universal Soldier’ to be rebooted on TV

3 October 2011 1:02 PM, PDT | Blogomatic3000 | See recent Blogomatic3000 news »

Badass 90s sci-fi action movie Universal Soldier, which apart from being one of my favourite movies, has spawned numerous sequels, the most recent of which, Universal Soldier:Regeneration saw both Jean Claude Van Damme and Dolph Lundgren (pictured above)return to the series and a further sequel entered production this past summer – and now Deadline are reporting that the franchise is headed to TV.

The show was announced at the Mipcom conference in Cannes by FremantleMedia North America who have tasked Stargate Sg-1 and Sanctuary scribe Damian Kindler with bringing it to the small screen; and Allen Shapiro and Craig Baumgarten, who produced the original movie, are signed on as executive producers.

Of course this isn’t the first time Universal Soldier has been on TV, actor Matt Battaglia previous brought Van Damme’s Luc Devereaux character to life in two made for TV movies – Universal Soldier 2: Brothers in Arms »
