I also loved watching this and quite expected there to be a follow up series. WHY do the very best things never go to a second series? The show was well researched and authentic to the period of between the wars Britain and the surrounding countryside was beautifully shot by the camera team. The bonds, tensions and relationships between the women in the family were very well drawn. The story gave a vivid picture of the desperation of families in post World War 1 Britain, struggling to establish a home and new life .Rebecca Callard though stole the show for me. She is going to do very well in future.
