Storyline

Hank Hill is an old fashioned, hardworking, beer drinking man who is trying to live in a modern Texas world. His wife is opinionated, his son is a disappointment, his friends are losers, and his Father is oppressive. But through it all, Hank keeps a level head, a strong sense of morality, and by doing so keeps himself "King of the Hill." Written by Mike Kramer

Trivia

Hank, Bobby, Peggy, Luanne, Bill, Dale, and Boomhauer were animated into an episode of The Simpsons (1989). At one point, Homer makes a reference to the Springfield football team playing the Arlen football team, then, the shot goes to the Hill family, where Hank says "We came two thousand miles for this?" The rest of the characters do not speak. In an episode of King of the Hill, Bobby also has a Bart Simpson doll on his bookshelf. See more »

Crazy Credits

In the episodes that were originally broadcast in HD, the episodes were clearly drawn with a widescreen presentation in mind. However, during the credits, the Deedle-Dee Productions "American Flag" credit screen is clearly cropped, with some text nearly being cut off as a result. See more »

One of the most intelligent shows on TV
11 April 2005 | by (Seattle) – See all my reviews

I just love this show! It took me a while to figure it out, but now I'm addicted to it.

The characters are brilliant and a lot of the jokes are unexpectedly hilarious. This is one of the few shows that can take me by surprise with it's genius humor. Most of the characters are funny, but Peggy cracks me up with almost everything she says. She has an unshakable self-confidence and she'll sacrifice anybody (including her son) to win her silly little battles.

My favorite episode is the one in which the Hills go to Japan. Classic!

I hope "King of the Hill" sticks around for a long time.
