Sex & Nudity

Moderate references throughout all series.

In one episode of series 1 Jonathan gets into a bath with a woman, you see her bare breasts briefly, and from the side.

In one episode of series 2 Maddie goes to the house of a nudist. Two women show their breasts, some men are naked also, but handily placed items block their genitalia.

In another episode of series 2 an elderly woman is getting up from a sunbed and we see her bare breasts from the side.

In one episode of series 3 you see a models bare breasts a few times in magazines and newspapers.

In series 3 you see Maddie and Jonathan lying in a bed together, but the bedclothes are covering everything. Maddie then says: "We finally did it."

In one episode of series 4 Carla's head is made into a blow-up doll. This is seen in a sex shop that Jonathan goes into, and next to it on the shelf is a video and you can see bare breasts of the actresses.

In one episode of series 3 a man and woman writhe around in bed, not too explicit.

in one episode of series 3 A drunk man is taken into a bedroom by a prostitute, they start kissing and she takes off his shirt. He is chained to the bed, and the scene cuts away. They are seen naked in bed the next morning but no nudity.

In one episode of series 4, a man goes to talk to a prostitute. They do not have sex, he is only questioning her. She later talks about a man who came to see her, and there is a flashback to when they are having sex, but nothing is seen, only from the waist up. We see the man's bare chest while he thrusts. Scene only lasts for a few seconds, is very brief.

In the same episode, Jonathan finds on a camera footage of a woman from the head up, and she is seen moaning and writhing, it is implied to be sexual. However, later on they find out this is not the case.

Violence & Gore

There are many dead bodies seen, along with people being shot and killed etc.

A woman's dead body is seen with the head cut off

In "The House Of Monkeys" a main character is seen falling on a samurai sword.

There is the occasional fight scene.

In series 4, a prostitute is seen and she has been badly burnt so her face is disfigured.

A woman suffers from a brain haemorrage after a piece of piping falls on her head, not too bad

A woman repeatedly tries to crush a man's skull with a massive rock, although it is not seen we see her dropping th stone. His still half alive body is taken and buried under some leaves

A woman is pushed out of a window onto some metal spikes, quite gory

Profanity

Occassional uses of the following terms; shit, bastard, bugger, bitch, piss, jesus christ, bollocks.

Jonathan Creek should be suitable for young teens ages 12/13+

Some scary scenes when people are murdered/ dead bodies are found

e.g one man's dead body is seen at the top of some steps despite the fact it was placed at the bottom and the room had been locked ever since.
