Katie Holmes has been confirmed to appear on the 100th episode of Fox's So You Think You Can Dance. The actress will appear in a Judy Garland song and dance tribute on July 23. Rumours about the Dawson's Creek star appearing on the show first surfaced last month when she was spotted at CBS studios wearing her dancing gear. Holmes's routine is based around Garland's song 'Get Happy' from the musical Summer Stock. According to judge Nigel Lythgoe, she will wear Garland's iconic "jacket" and "little hat". Actor Presnell Dies

Broadway star Harve Presnell has died, aged 75.

The actor passed away on Tuesday in Santa Monica, California after a battle with pancreatic cancer.

Presnell made his name on the New York stage in the 1960s and 1970s, starring in productions including The Unsinkable Molly Brown and Annie. He also acted on the West End stage in London in a 1972 version of Gone With The Wind.

He was also an established movie star, appearing alongside Tom Hanks in Saving Private Ryan in 1998, and he won a Golden Globe in 1965 for Most Promising Male Newcomer.

He also appeared in Fargo, Face/Off and Mr. Deeds. His final films were 2006's Flags of Our Fathers and 2007's Evan Almighty, in which he played Congressman Burrows.

Presnell also appeared in a number of U.S. TV shows, such as teen drama Dawson's Creek, Andy Barker P.I. and Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.

He is survived by his wife Veeva Suzanne Hamblen and three children from a previous marriage.

Katherine Heigl to star in 'Life as We Know It'

The lovely Katherine Heigl is set to star in Greg Berlanti's upcoming romance "Life as We Know It" for Warner Bros., according to Variety.

Written by Ian Deitchman and Kristin Rusk Robinson, the film follows two adults whose lives abruptly change when their best friends die in an accident and they are asked to take on the role of caregivers for their orphaned daughter.

Berlanti is known for his writing and producing credits on "Everwood," "Dawson's Creek," "Brothers & Sisters" and "Eli Stone." He also co-wrote "The Green Lantern" script.

As for Heigl ("27 Dresses"), she will next be seen in "The Ugly Truth." She is currently filming "Five Killers" for Robert Luketic.

Holmes To Star In Talent Show Finale

Katie Holmes has donned her dancing shoes to film a cameo for the finale of hit U.S. talent show So You Think You Can Dance.

The Dawson's Creek star has been dogged with rumours about her involvement with the series after it emerged she was taking secret dance lessons and had met with the programme's producer Nigel Lythgoe.

And now sources on-set confirm the actress is set to appear on the show after filming a cameo segment earlier this week.

An insider tells E! Online, "It taped last week. It's going to be on the finale. It's a Broadway does Hollywood number. It opens on a Broadway stage and then she walks into a Hollywood studio."

And Holmes dazzled everyone on set with her skills.

The source adds, "She was amazing. She was such a pro. Her legs are in great shape. She's got a hat and a cane and she's wearing a leotard and tights."

The season finale airs on 6 August.

It's just that former Dawson's Creek show runner Tom Kapinos spoke at a Los Angeles Times' Envelope Emmy screening series panel about his current show, Californication, last night, and well, he went off on his former starlets. In talking about the genesis of Californication, Tom explained: "The idea came out of my own misery of working on Dawson's Creek. I came out here to write screenplays, and I ended up on Dawson's Creek, which was very lucrative and fun, but it was not what I wanted to do."
