Character error 

The mezzuzah, a Jewish religious scroll attached to a home's door posts, on Ben Rosen's home is angled the wrong way; it should be angled toward the entrance of the home.

During the Rach 3 performance David's hands are dripping with sweat, dry, then dripping with sweat again.

During the first music competition, we see one of the judges, Mr. Rosen, with his hand covering his face. The camera angle changes to the back of the room and his hand is now lower. The scene returns to view him from the side and his hand is on his face again.

Factual errors 

The character shows all signs of schizophrenia; not bipolar disorder (formerly known as "manic-depressive disorder"), as is claimed in the film. The real David Helfgott likewise displays many symptoms of schizophrenia and none of bipolar disorder.
