‘Twin Peaks’: Matthew Lillard on His Breakout Role and Joining David Lynch’s Dysfunctional Family

26 May 2017 8:00 AM, PDT | Indiewire Television | See recent Indiewire Television news »

Last week’s premiere of “Twin Peaks” brought with it no shortage of surprises, but here’s probably the most unpredictable one we witnessed: a captivating performance by Matthew Lillard as William Hastings, a high school principal accused of murder, whose wife is tied up in the supernatural mystery surrounding Agent Dale Cooper’s (Kyle MacLachlan) evil doppleganger.

Read More: ‘Twin Peaks’ Guide to Returning Characters and How They’re Helping – or Hurting – Cooper: Parts 1 & 2 (An Ongoing List)

Lillard’s career began in the early ’90s with roles in “Serial Mom” and “Hackers,” and his reputation is definitely rooted in some variation of comedy, from horror comedies like “Scream” to the live-action “Scooby-Doo” films (and subsequent animated projects, for which Lillard still provides the voice of Shaggy).

Cole Sprouse Is Slowly Turning Into Skeet Ulrich, and We're Not Mad

24 May 2017 12:10 PM, PDT | Popsugar.com | See recent Popsugar news »

Cole Sprouse may be the most "daddy" on Riverdale, but his onscreen father, Skeet Ulrich, is just as handsome. While the actors are famous for their individual franchises - Skeet for Scream and Cole for Disney Channel's Suite Life of Zack and Cody - their portrayals of Fp and Jughead Jones hold a special place in our hearts. Not only do they play relatives on TV but their physical similarities in real life are actually pretty wild. From that jet black hair to that cool demeanor, Cole is basically Skeet's mini me, and we're not complaining one bit. You know what they say: like father, like son. ‘Psycho Cop Returns’ Review (Vinegar Syndrome)

24 May 2017 10:01 AM, PDT | Blogomatic3000 | See recent Blogomatic3000 news »

Stars: Robert R. Shafer, Barbara Niven, Miles Dougal, Rod Sweitzer, Nick Vallelonga, Melanie Good, Julie Strain | Written by Dan Povenmire | Directed by Adam Rifkin (as Rif Coogan)

You know, it wasn’t until the release of Detroit Rock City that I realised that a) Adam Rifkin and Rif Coogan are one in the same; and b) just how many of Rifkin’s films I considered amongst my favourites at that time: Never on Tuesday, The Dark Backward, The Chase and, of course, Psycho Cop Returns. Mainly because they were films I remember renting on video  (you couldn’t escape trailers for The Dark Backward back in the VHS era) and seeing on Sky’s movie channels in the days when you could be guaranteed to find an “obscure” film screening as filler between their big-name flicks!

Psycho Cop Returns came at a period in horror movie making, which also included »

The Biggest Reason You Recognize Fp on Riverdale

12 May 2017 3:30 PM, PDT | POPSUGAR | See recent BuzzSugar news »

Image Source: The CW Riverdale is loaded with the best young talent Hollywood has to offer, but the parental figures are nothing to sneeze at, either. Of course they're all wildly attractive, but they're also all veteran actors. Luke Perry, aka Fred Andrews, is a TV legend thanks to Beverly Hills, 90210. Mädchen Amick, aka Alice Cooper, got her start on Twin Peaks. But what about Fp Jones? You know that face from somewhere. Of course you do - he's played by the forever sexy Skeet Ulrich. Ulrich broke onto the scene in the late '90s with roles in teen hits like The Craft and Boys. It was his portrayal of Billy Loomis in the original Scream, however, that solidified his place in pop culture history. Image Source: Miramax After his breakout role, he appeared in films like As Good as It Gets and The Newton Boys. He starred in the 2003 series Miracle, »

New Character Details Revealed for Season 3 of MTV’s Scream

5 May 2017 1:10 PM, PDT | DailyDead | See recent DailyDead news »

Alien Day in April may have been filled with Xenomorph-related news, but MTV took center stage by announcing that season 3 of Scream will feature an entirely new cast, story, and setting. While fans of the show are still saying goodbye to the Lakewood survivors from the first two seasons, character details for the series' new group of high schoolers have been revealed.

TVLine has unveiled the details for five characters from the upcoming third season of Scream. While these descriptions are likely a good template of what to expect, don't be surprised if the exact names and all of the details don't translate fully to the screen versions of the characters, as sometimes the casting information isn't 100% used in the final product.

From TVLine: "* First up is Dion, a Michael B. Jordan-esque football player on track to score a college scholarship — that is, until a masked killer uses Dion’s darkest secrets against him, »

The 25 greatest movies about making movies

3 May 2017 2:40 AM, PDT | Den of Geek | See recent Den of Geek news »

Mark Harrison May 19, 2017

From the currently playing Their Finest to the likes of Bowfinger and Boogie Nights, we salute the movies about making movies...

If you haven't caught up yet, Their Finest is currently playing in UK cinemas and it's a gorgeous little love letter to perseverance through storytelling, set against the backdrop of a film production office at the British Ministry of Information during the Second World War. Based on Lissa Evans' novel, Gemma Arterton and Bill Nighy play characters whose access to the film industry has been contingent on the global crisis that takes other young men away from such trifling matters, and it's a real joy to watch.

Among other things, the film got us thinking about other films about making films. We're not talking about documentaries, even though Hearts Of Darkness, the documentary about the making of Apocalypse Now, may be the greatest film about »

Now That 13 Reasons Why Season 2 Is (Probably) Happening, Here's What It Could Be About

1 May 2017 1:15 PM, PDT | POPSUGAR | See recent BuzzSugar news »

13 Reasons Why is incredibly close to securing a second season, and the writers are reportedly already at work on a new set of episodes. While I'm rooting for another season, a lot of fans were hoping the show would end with the 13-episode miniseries. If you're on the fence but still curious about what could happen if the show continues, I have some ideas. There's always the chance the writers will pick up from the very last episode of season one and show the fallout of Tony giving Hannah's parents the tapes, but they could go another route. Here are six options! 1. Another School, Another Story Season one tells a complete story. We meet Hannah, we see her struggle and eventual suicide, and we witness the impact of her death among her peers and family. Yes, we could go on with these characters, but what if 13 Reasons Why adopted a »

How Former Teen Idols Are Getting Second Lives on Ya Shows Like ‘Riverdale’ and ‘13 Reasons Why’

27 April 2017 2:36 PM, PDT | Indiewire Television | See recent Indiewire Television news »

More than 30 years after enduring “16 Candles,” Molly Ringwald is heading back to the school dance, and “Riverdale” couldn’t be happier.

The former teen icon, known for her membership in the ‘80s Brat Pack and her John Hughes pedigree, guest stars on Thursday’s “Riverdale” as Archie’s mom Mary. She and her estranged husband Fred (Luke Perry) will be back together temporarily to see their son perform at the high school dance. While the casting was a natural fit because of Ringwald’s red hair, her teen star cred also helped. Both “Riverdale” and “13 Reasons Why” are two teen-centric shows that have been bringing back former teen stars to play the older generation, and reaping the benefits.

Now on Blu-ray: The Wishmaster Collection Arrives From Vestron Video

By 1997, the creature feature was all but dead in the horror world. Films like From Beyond, The Fly, The Beast Within, and dozens of others were very popular in the '80s and early '90s, but by the time Wes Craven upended the genre with Scream, people had already started getting cynical about horror and the lens had largely turned inward. However, the idea of the gruesome monster laying waste to guilty and innocent alike wasn't completely dead, and in '97 the Djinn was born. Wishmaster was written by Peter Atkins, best known for his work on the Hellraiser series, and directed by FX wizard Robert Kurtzman, then a part of the legendary Knb Efx Group with Greg Nicotero and Howard Berger. Bad news for any fans of Time After Time, as ABC has pulled the plug on the drama series, removing the show from its Sunday night schedule after just five episodes amid dwindling ratings.

The series, developed by Kevin Williamson (Scream) and based on Karl Alexander’s sci-fi novel, stars Freddie Stroma as H.G. Wells, who travels into the present to hunt John Stevenson, a.k.a. Jack the Ripper, played by Josh Bowman.

Time After Time premiered on March 5th, pulling a low rating of 0.7 in the key 18-49 demographic, and 2.53 million viewers overall. However, its latest episode managed just 1.87 million viewers, forcing the network to call time on the series.
