There’s nothing new under the sun — which is just the way Millennials like it.
We’re a generation obsessed with our own recent past, as befits the children of Boomers. Our influence on the entertainment industry is also increasing as we grow older. That’s probably why 2012 was the year that a collective nostalgia for pop culture from the ’90s and even the early ’00s hit in full force. Sure, the year also featured its share of projects inspired by/cribbing from the ’80s or even earlier — we learned it by watching you, Generation X! — but generally speaking, a »

Animanicas is back on TV where they belong, thank you Hub.
Since everyday is likely to be a slow news day this week, I'm giving you the full listings for Christmas week. (Be sure to note that Christmas isn't enough to get in the way of snicks following Days of Our Lives with liveblogs on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday!) I hope you all have a safe, happy and delicious holiday!
Over the weekend, TNT cancelled Leverage, making Tuesday's season finale, the series' swan song. On the bright side, fans had a couple weeks to prepare for the bad news as producer Dean Devlin wrote that, foreseeing this cancellation, the episode was written to work as a season or series finale.
The people have spoken — and they really, really can’t wait for Girl Meets World. In the month of November, stories about Gmw — the as yet un-greenlit Disney Channel sequel-slash-spinoff of Boy Meets World — accounted for a staggering half a million pageviews on EW.com, indicating that you guys take your nostalgia pretty darn seriously.
And while we’re all for reveling in the return of Cory, Topanga, and (fingers crossed) more of the Philadelphia crew, your enormous interest in Girl Meets World got us thinking about which other beloved ’80s and ’90s sitcoms might be ripe for a reboot. »

Tgif, ABC's storied, family-friendly block of Friday night programming, gave us harmless TV that some would argue has amounted to classic programming: Full House, Perfect Strangers, Hangin' With Mr. Cooper and Sister, Sister all originated in that Friday block, which ran from 1988-2000 (with a resurgence from 2003-5). When I heard that ABC was revamping Boy Meets World in a spinoff series called Girl Meets World, where onetime teens Cory (Ben Savage) and Topanga (Danielle Fishel) raise their titular teen daughter together, I vroomed my motorcycle in approval like Jonathan Turner. Still, this raised a question: What other Tgif classics deserve a spinoff series?
Here are five options I'd be most psyched to see. Cross your fingers for a Patrick Duffy cameo.
Step By Step: Dana and Karen's Garage Salon
One thing that ruled about Tgif was the constant presence of funny women. On Step By Step, we were gifted by the fresh-faced, »
If you’re like myself, then you grew up on ABC’s T.G.I.F. block of shows. I mean, who didn’t love Family Matters, Step by Step, Sabrina The Teenage Witch, Hangin' With Mr. Cooper and of course Boy Meets World?!
News broke yesterday that both Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel would be reprising their roles as Cory and Topanga. Now Fishel has even written a very heartfelt letter to all the adoring fans who grew up on this show. You can read it in its entirety below, but she mainly touches on what we can expect from the new show and how it will be different.
She says that she has no idea who else from the original show will return. With William Daniels (better known as Mr. Feeny) still acting, most recently seen on a stint in Grey’s Anatomy these past weeks, one would think he would return. »
Nicole Scherzinger is the newest X Factor judge, and arguably this year's standout star. She's killing in the fashion stakes, airing her sexual innuendos on national television, coining the term 'Jah-mazing', and responsible for both James 'effing' Arthur and Rylan 'let's have it up' Clark. Here are ten things we found out about our newest American import with the tongue-twister surname. 1. Nicole Prescovia Elikolani Valiente was born on June 29, 1978, in Honolulu, Hawaii and raised in Louisville, Kentucky. Her father is of Filipino descent and her mother is of half-Russian, half-Hawaiian descent. Nicole took her stepfather's surname after he adopted her. 2. Prior to worldwide fame, Scherzinger got into acting and has appeared in episodes of television shows such as My Wife and Kids, Sabrina the Teenage Witch (more) »

Alright guys, I’ll level with you – I hate spiders. Everyone has that one creepy, crawly thing that grosses them out to no end, and the thought of a little fat fuzzy black arachnid scurrying by my toes gives me instantaneous chills. Just one of those things that isn’t for me, yeah? But don’t think I hide my eyes when they’re around or anything, as I love catching Eight Legged Freaks whenever it’s running on syndication, so I took Tibor Takács’ Spiders 3D as a welcome festival opener.
A throwback to the B-Movie creature features of old, undoubtably having scientists meddle with something small, growing it to gargantuan sizes only to cause destruction? Sounds like a good time to me, especially since Tibor is a veteren of these types of flicks, such as Ice Spiders, Mega Snake, Kraken: Tentacles Of The Deep, Sabrina The Teenage Witch… »

Melissa Joan Hart has been the victim of abuse over Twitter for her support of presidential candidate Mitt Romney. The Sabrina the Teenage Witch star received offensive tweets shortly after Barack Obama was re-elected as Us president for a second term. Hart retweeted some of the abuse she received, which read: "a fat, unbankable, untalented, uneducated, neo-con, bad mom, child star from the 80s..?" and: "hey Sabrina, f**k you," to which Hart added: "Such a lovely tweet to read while up feeding (more) »

The Hub cable channel has announced that they've picked up a new animated TV series, Sabrina: Secrets of a Teenage Witch. Based on the classic Archie Comics character, the new animated series is expected to premiere in the summer of 2013. Ashley Tisdale will voice the title character.
It doesn't sound like the new version will be directly related to the popular live-action series, Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, its animated spin-off Sabrina: The Animated Series, or the original Sabrina the Teenage Witch animated series from 1970.
Here's the press release with some additional details:

Trucco will play Nate, "the street-smart, charismatic and slightly menacing brother of new Hamptons resident Kenny," on the vengeful ABC drama, according to TVLine. As previously announced, the role of Kenny is being played by the equally intimidating J.R. Bourne, best known for his work on "Teen Wolf" and "The Secret Circle."
Trucco is currently appearing as Robin's new beau on "How I Met Your Mother," but since we all know she ends up walking down the aisle with Barney (or at least leaving him at the altar), we're fairly sure Trucco won't be around for too long.

I have reported here and elsewhere about the goings-on at Archie Comics. While DC keeps on hitting the reset button like a monkey in a crack experiment, and Marvel keeps on doing endless – literally endless – mega-events, Archie has been slowly making history.
In the past several years they’ve added a major gay character and they’ve had Archie fall in love (on the cover, no less) with a black woman. They’ve taken ongoing looks into the potential futures of their characters, which plays against the assumptions held by our culture for more than 70 years. They’ve tried to make Riverdale look and feel more like the real world: even the hallowed Pop Tate’s has had to endure competition by national fast food chains. Archie Comics continues to be the major force in entertaining each next generation of comics readers; without their efforts and similar, but smaller, endeavors by Boom! »

Melissa Joan Hart, the famous 90's child actress who played the roles of Clarissa and Sabrina the Teenage Witch, is calling out for everyone to have a heart and offer a little help to the victims of Hurricane Isaac.
Hurricane Isaac just devastated Florida, Mississippi, Alabama and Louisiana earlier this week. A part of New Orleans was also struck by this horrible storm. It should be noted that these places are just beginning to rise up again after the devastation brought about by Hurricane Katrina back in 2005.
She tweeted, "Want to help the victims of Isaac that are still rebuilding after Katrina? Please donate..."
