"Dancing With The Stars" Eliminates 2 Couples

28 October 2009 6:14 AM, PDT | icelebz.com | See recent iCelebz news »

"Dancing with the Stars" eliminated two pairs Tuesday night, with former "Sabrina the Teenage Witch" star Melissa Joan Hart the first to go home.

The 33-year-old former child star and partner Mark Ballas scored a low 20 in their Waltz rendition of Celine Dion's "Only One Road" and 4 in the group Mambo.

Perhaps Hart's performance this week wasn't a judges' favorite because it was affected by a flu bug, according to Ok! magazine.

Snowboarder Louis Vito and partner Chelsie Hightower also performed their last dance this week. They scored 21 in their Jitterbug and 3 in the Mambo.

It was a night of sizzling sambas and romantic rhumbas when the celebs took to the dance floor for this week's "Dancing with the Stars" competition, but it was questionable whether or not Tom DeLay was going to be able to dance because his injury had developed into a full stress fracture. Paula Abdul was in the audience, seated next to Lance Bass. She told host Tom Bergeron: "It is a great season. The show tonight was amazing. Everything was great until you sat next to me and disturbed me." Then she gave a shout out to Len Goodman: "Mr. Goodman, you are Mr. Badman tonight." "Iron Chef"'s Chairman Mark Dacascos and his partner Lacey Schwimmer kicked off the night with the rhumba. Lead judge Len Goodman cautioned them that "grumpy was back," but then he went on to give a not-so-harsh review. "The rhumba for the celebrity man is hard, »

Archie, Betty And Veronica Finally Hire Agents

22 September 2009 3:54 PM, PDT | cinemablend.com | See recent Cinema Blend news »

Archie Comics was in the news recently when perennial bachelor Archie, who had been locked in a 60-year love triangle between girl next door Betty and rich girl Veronica, decided to pop the question to Veronica. But before that, when was the last time a major segment of the population actually cared about the ageless comic book hero? Creative Arts Agency is going to make it their business to make sure we all do. According to Variety the talent agency has signed a deal with Archie Comics Publications that's apparently similar to the one they struck with Mattel, which provided film and television opportunities to the longstanding series. But it won't just be Archie and friends who are part of the deal-- Archie Comics also owns Josie and the Pussycats, who already got their own movie, and Sabrina the Teenage Witch, who really deserved one back in the 90s. Archie Comics Signs With CAA, Dreaming of Stardom

22 September 2009 8:45 AM, PDT | Cinematical | See recent Cinematical news »

Will Archie and Jughead be the new Optimus Prime and Megatron? Archie Comics Publications and CAA hope so. According to Variety, the two companies have signed a deal in the hopes of creating film and television franchises, reasoning that if it worked for Mattel and Hasbro, it'll work for Archie and Veronica.

Of course, Archie Comics isn't limited to just the redheaded teen and his wholesome pals. They also own Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Josie and the Pussycats, Cosmo the Merry Martian, Super Duck, and Dotty and Ditto. It's not clear whether this deal would include the Archie characters that DC licensed as part of its Impact line (guys like The Black Hood, and The Comet) but I'm guessing that CAA's representation is limited only to their retro, in-need-of-an-update faces.

So, can Archie or Cosmo the Merry Martian become hot properties? Archie & Friends still gets a lot of love from comic book fans, »
