Kind of boring, but some good moments., 6 July 2004

Author: Pepper Anne from Orlando, Florida

'Rumble in the Streets' is the story of two homeless kids who are being pursued by a psychotic cop. Tori (Kimberly Rowe) is the insipid prostitute/junkie who doesn't seem to realize what is going on, not even after the urgings of her friend (and personal saviour), Sy (David Courtemarche), who tries to convince her that there is a psychotic cop on the loose, and he's killing anyone who stands in her way in order to get to her.

It is kind of a boring movie because the whole plot is basically motivated by a cat-and-mouse scenario. So, where you would probably expect a bunch of chase scenes possibly interspersed with some friendship bonding moments (Sy and Tori only meet when Tori is being beat up by the cop and Sy jumps in to rescue her). But, we have an awful lot of stationary sequences of Sy following idiot Tori around. She's so clueless half the time, nothing exciting really ever happens. That's the problem. With a plot like this, something should happen.

It's an alright movie, given that at times, the movie does seems to pick up the pace, but for the most part, it is pretty boring.
