Storyline

Capulet becomes Cappell, and Montague becomes Monroe in yet another modernized adaptation of Shakespeare's classic "Romeo & Juliet." This time, the adult family members are feuding by way of a mayoral election, while Ronnie & Julie are the ice-skating lovers (he in hockey, and she as a figure skater.) FANTASTIC!
29 November 1999 | by See all my reviews

I give this movie a 10. Unfortunately, I lost my last post so this will have to do. It has a great script, and is very well acted. Joshua Jackson is awesome (he makes the film) as is his chemistry w/ Margot Finley. All the actors are very good. The dialogue is believable as are the characters. It's a great update of Romeo and Juliet, set in High School. The skating aspect ties it together well (RECOMENDED FOR hockey players/figure skaters). You can't help but love this sweet, romantic movie- it's not too sappy. (As if you need more convincing, JOSH JACKSON IS SOOOOO HOT!!!) I recommend this to anyone, you can see it on Showtime in the winter. It's sure to make you smile!
