Niagra Falls police detective and Iraq war veteran John Dromoor (Nicolas Cage – The Rock) is flagged down by a 12 year old girl after she witnesses her mother, Teena, being brutally attacked and left for dead by a group of local men.
When the men are caught, their parents hire slick criminal defence attorney Jay Kirkpatrick, (Don Johnson – Django Unchained) who puts the focus on Teena’s credibility, sobriety and promiscuity. Shockingly her assailants are exonerated and released, even though the daughter’s testimony should have been enough for a certain conviction.
Following the verdict Dromoor grows increasingly close to the victim and her family, who he then discovers are being taunted and stalked by the freed men. The injustice becomes »

The Guardian Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson has 26 (!!!) films in development

The world’s highest-paid actor has a staggering number of movies in the works – and you can probably guess what happens in them from their titles alone
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson currently has 26 movies in development. That is a staggering amount of work, possibly equalled only by crippling-debt-era Nicolas Cage. On paper, it looks like a tremendous amount of resources will go into developing all of these scripts. In reality, though, that’s unlikely to be the case, because Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson only really makes three types of film: the ironic action comedy, the kids movie and the disaster epic. In fact, you can probably guess what happens in all of those forthcoming films just by looking at their names. With this in mind, let’s go through his project list on IMDb and take a guess at the plots from the titles alone, starting with the most recent. »

The Rock (1996)
The fate of San Francisco is at stake. There’s a missile filled with tiny glass orbs pointed at it, and all those glass orbs are full of glowing neon-green nerve gas. Nicolas Cage, playing a twitchy and sweaty FBI chemical-weapons expert, is working frantically to disarm it. Tony Todd, the guy who played Candyman in Candyman, is an elite rogue marine, stalking him. Todd puts down his gun and pulls out a huge Rambo-esque knife; he wants to have some fun with this one. Cage, practically vomiting word-salad: “Let’s talk music. Do you like the Elton John song ‘Rocket Man’?” Todd, snarling but acting as if this is a perfectly ...

In first place was Timberlake’s black and white portrait, which garnered nearly 1.3 million likes, and closely behind was his “#Oscars ready” post with nearly 1.1 million likes.

There was a lot of buzz and excitement in 1999. People around planet earth were excited to see what the new Millennium would bring; while big companies panicked that the Y2K bug would kill all their hard work and shut down the working world. For Dougray Scott, 1999 was set to be the year that changed his career. He had been handpicked by Tom Cruise to play the villain in M:i:2 and he was set to play Wolverine in Bryan Singer’s X-Men.
The adaptation of the popular Marvel Comics property had been a long one. In 1984 Marvel writers Gerry Conway and Rob Thomas wrote a screenplay for production company Orion Pictures (Platoon) who had optioned the film rights. But when the company fell into financial troubles the rights went over to Carolco Pictures (First Blood) who began »

At the Academy Awards on Sunday night, Kevin O’Connell just broke the longest streak for Oscar nominations without a win. The 59-year-old New Yorker had been nominated 21 times in total, making 2017 a very good year for him.
Who else among Hollywood’s finest has had to weather a storm of nominations without a win? Well, even just keeping it to over 10 nominations, it’s a healthy list. Let’s take a look.
O’Connell’s win must have been somewhat bittersweet for Russell, who’s directly behind the elder sound mixer in the category of most nominations without wins. »

It finally happened for Kevin O’Connell.
At Sunday night’s 89th annual Academy Awards, the veteran sound mixer won Best Sound Mixing for Hacksaw Ridge alongside Peter Grace, Robert Mackenzie and Andy Wright. The victory is O’Connell’s first after 21 total nominations; until Sunday, O’Connell was the most-nominated person in Oscars history without a victory.
O’Connell dedicated the big win to his mother, Skippy.
“A special thank you tonight to my mother, Skippy O’Connell, who 39 years ago got me a job in sound,” O’Connell said. “And when I asked her how I could thank her, »

For more than a decade, sound mixers Kevin O’Connell and Greg P. Russell worked hand-in-hand on some of the industry’s biggest box office hits, movies like “The Rock,” “Armageddon,” “Spider-Man,” and “Transformers.” It was a relationship born out of an early coupling on Ridley Scott’s “Black Rain” that later took flight in the mid-1990s when the two set up shop together at the Cary Grant mixing stage on the Sony lot in Culver City. In their time together, they landed Academy recognition 12 times, quickly becoming the Susan Luccis of the Oscars — consistently nominated, but never awarded.
Ten years ago, after the first “Transformers” film, O’Connell and Russell went their separate ways. This year, they’re back at the big dance together, though for different projects: O’Connell picked up his 21st nomination to date for Mel Gibson’s “Hacksaw Ridge,” while Russell is back in »

We'd like to forget all about the last attempt at a live-action Masters of The Universe movie. Sorry, Dolph! Great hair, though.
Welcome back to another edition of Fantasy Fridays, where two real-life best friends (Jeremy Scully and I, Mario-Francisco Robles) get together to cast/pitch our dream movies.
In the past, we've tackled everything from The Batman to the Universal Monsters.
This week, we turn our attention towards the long-gestating cinematic reboot of Masters of The Universe. Jeremy and I grew up on the classic 80s cartoon, and I had a ton of the old action figures. Yet even we knew, as children, that the 1987 movie starring Dolph Lundgren was crap. That's why we'd like to put our own spin on what the reboot should look/feel like.
Over the years, many filmmakers and various studios have tried and failed to get a Masters of The Universe movie off of the ground. »

Why So Serious?
Since the announcement that Ben Affleck was no longer directing The Batman, there have been some rumours about his continued involvement in the franchise, as well as word that Chris Terrio (Argo) has re-written his script. According to a new report from Forbes, Affleck’s script saw a cameo from Jared Leto’s Joker last seen in Suicide Squad as well as a list of other Batman villains. The report also says that Affleck’s script – which he’s been working on for some time – might be scrapped entirely. Read more here.
Following the teaser trailer released during the Super Bowl, Entertainment Weekly dropped some new images from Stranger Things season 2 as well as a synopsis. We won’t post it here in case of spoilers, but you can read more about it here.

Dwayne Johnson and his Seven Bucks Productions have wasted no time in firing up the casting process for Fighting With My Family, the WWE comedy-drama to be written and directed by Stephen Merchant (The Office).
Revolving around the life and career of WWE superstar Paige – played here by newcomer Florence Pugh – Johnson has revealed via Twitter that Game of Thrones star Lena Headey and Nick Frost have climbed on board the embryonic feature. They’ve agreed to terms to portray Paige’s parents, Julia and Ricky, rounding out a cast list that also includes Jack Lowden (Paige’s brother Jack) and Dwayne Johnson himself, who will cameo as The Rock – The People’s Eyebrow and all. Fighting With My Family is without a release date at the moment, but we understand it’ll cover much of the same ground as Brit documentary The Wrestlers: Fighting With My Family, albeit with a more star-studded lineup. »

Here are all the trailer that debuted during Super Bowl Li, ranked from best to worst. We’ve also included the film’s release dates.
A giant wrecking ball. A missile-launching submarine. And Charlize Theron as the new villain? This trailer for the eighth “Fast and the Furious” film has something for everyone.
“The Fate of the Furious” opens April 14, 2017.
Our first look at the fifth “Pirates” film did not disappoint. Johnny Depp returns as Jack Sparrow, but the trailer focuses on a ghostly pirate ship. The special effects — including an undead gull and the dead walking on water — look incredible.

The Super Bowl is nearly upon us, and for sports fans it is the can't miss event of the year. Not all movie fans are into watching NFL football, but they have historically had a good reason to tune in. Because studios are known to drop new trailers and TV spots for upcoming releases. That looks to be the case again this year, with Disney, Fox, Sony and Paramount all ponying up an average of $5 million for 30-second chunks of air time. The question becomes, what movies are we going to see footage for?
Deadline is reporting that Disney is going to be advertising two upcoming movies during the Super Bowl this year. They couldn't say for sure what movies the Mouse House is going to promote, but Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 seems like a sure bet, since it is the next Marvel movie scheduled to hit theaters, »
Transformers came out nearly a decade ago and that movie was important in that, it proved toys could provide fuel for a billion dollar franchise. Paramount tried to capture that same fire in a different bottle with G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra back in 2009, but it didn't quite get there. The sequel, G.I. Joe: Retaliation, which brought the "franchise Viagra" known as Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson into the fold, fared better and there were plans for a third movie. Unfortunately, it looks like that movie isn't happening anytime soon, which is a shame because it was recently revealed that G.I. Joe 3 would have featured a crossover with the Transformers franchise.
Disturbia director D.J. Caruso was brought on to develop G.I. Joe 3 in early 2015, but movement on the project has been pretty slow. He eventually moved on and decided to direct xXx: The Return of Xander Cage, instead. »
