Kid outsmarts grown ups
Angeneer26 May 2000
First let me recite a funny story. I jumped on it while zapping at 3am and I noticed the X rating icon on the top right. Then I saw the kid. So I was like "they now put kiddie porn on TV or it's Fellini extravaganza?!?" Yes, there was a rater who was THAT dumb. She put an X (not even R!) rating to a definite PG and the network put this flick on the late late night time zone!!! Anyway, one minute was enough to figure out what kind of movie this is, so here's the review: At the beginning it's an action thriller for kids. No violent scenes or real tension, you just care (well, kind of) for the sake of the protagonist. Then it gets to a point where the writers decided to forget the plot and divert to farce, so it's pure brainless comedy. At the end, they remembered the plot again and avoided the dreaded G by having some shootings. But in general it's light entertainment, following the ultra-smart-kid-solves-the-mystery-by-himself guideline. Okay for a family rental, don't expect anything more.

Not a patch on the original
rodneykumar10 January 2007
What a shame! The first one was action packed, bright, buzzy and loads of fun. The second is none of these.

None of the original family (apart from Stuart played by Mikey LeBeau) returns, first mistake. Add in a plot about some secret computer program, yada, yada, zzzzz!

Mikey Le Beau didn't appear to be having much fun - and it really shows. The actors are fine, but clearly the budget was so low, all they could do was have people run around a university campus. Skip this one (if you can even find it) and get the first one only.

Sadly this was Mikey LeBeau's last film, maybe he was already sensing that acting wasn't for him after all.
