Trivia

As there was only one B-17 available, the shot of the bombers in formation was made using multiple exposures. (The same technique was used to show the Colonial Battlestar fleet at the beginning of Battlestar Galactica: Saga of a Star World.) See more »

Quotes

Narrator: Friendly fire - that's what it's called nowadays. One wonders who could have invented such a ludicrously cosmetic term for such lethal mistakes. In the Britain of 1942, these episodes were offically known in military circles as balls ups, and sadly they happened all to often. And not just to the British. These incidents afflicted both of the opposing forces - and the Germans too, I shouldn't wonder!

Superb

This was a brilliant mini-series, both funny and nostalgic. Martin Clunes at his very, very best as are all the cast members. I would imagine that it was a lot of fun to film! The friendly rivalry between the Brits and the Americans provides some absolutely hilarious moments. There are some great one-liners and 'throwaway' lines that provide such wonderful humour, which is only to be expected with the writer being John Sullivan. With every other series, play, etc being released on DVD, why has this one not been released? If you haven't seen this, if you ever get the chance, do so - this is a Must See!!!! Please, please release this as soon as possible - I am getting withdrawal symptoms..................
