Just as the Star Wars films has been a force to be reckoned with in the best visual effects category, the Star Trek films have done the same in the best makeup and hairstyling category. Over the course of Oscar history — or at least since the addition of this award — this sci-fi franchise has amassed four nominations in this category with one of those being a win and one being up in the air this year.
