The story of this film is set in the sixteenth century. Young Maya is running through red chili pepper drying in the sun on the palace grounds. Chillies didn't reach Indian cuisine until the seventeenth century.

Continuity 

When teen Tara and Maya were dancing to the music in the sunlight, Maya's blouse under her armpit can be seen wet with sweats, on the next scene the sweat is decreased severely.
