Lorna-Lee Sagebiel Torres joins Magnolia as director of international sales

Exclusive: The executive most recently served at Visit Films where she oversaw several territories and led marketing for the past five years.

Magnolia Pictures has hired former Visit Films executive Lorna-Lee Sagebiel Torres as director of international sales.

“We very happy to bring Lorna-Lee on board,” said Magnolia Pictures president Eamonn Bowles. “She’s going to be a terrific addition to Scott’s [Veltri, head of worldwide] team.”

Sagebiel Torres will work alongside Veltri in the New York office.

The team is currently attending Toronto. The sales roster includes The Eyes Of My Mother, Alive And Kicking, The Lovers And The Despot, Tickled and Lo And Behold: Reveries Of The Connected World. »

Scott Veltri to head Magnolia sales

Exclusive: Veltri replaces Christina Rogers at the Us sales company.

Scott Veltri has been promoted to head of worldwide sales forcand replaces Christina Rogers, who is departing to pursue other opportunities. 

Veltri previously served as vice-president of international sales and worked closely with Rogers over the last three years to increase the profile of the division.

He sold titles such as Sean Baker’s Tangerine, Steve James’ documentary Life Itself, Crystal Moselle’s The Wolfpack, Albert MayslesIris, and Morgan Neville and Robert Gordon’s Best Of Enemies.

Scott has proven himself to be an invaluable asset to the international sales team, and we’re very pleased for him to take on this new responsibility,” said Magnolia president Eamonn Bowles.

Ellen Burstyn, a rare triple winner of an Oscar, a Tony and an Emmy, will collect the honour during the San Francisco International Film Festival on April 25. 

The award honours an actor whose work exemplifies “brilliance, independence, and integrity.” Past recipients include Richard Gere, Maria Bello, and Annette Bening.

Burstyn will also take part in an on-stage interview and screening of Requiem For A Dream, for which she earned a best supporting actress Academy Award nomination.

She was inducted into the Theater Hall Of Fame in 2014 and can be seen later this year in James Lapine’s Custody and Todd Solondz’s Wiener-Dog.
