45 TV Shows You Need To Catch This Fall 1 of 46

Click to skip The Strain

When? August 28th at 10pm on FX

Why? Because three seasons in and The Strain still remains a juicy, pulpy, often delectable piece of summer programming.

You're The Worst

When? August 31st at 10pm on Fxx

Why? Anticipating where creator/writer Stephen Falk will pick up after last year’s epically poignant and romantic cliffhanger has made 2016 slow to a crawl, so here’s to hoping season 3 keeps You’re the Worst on the creative and bravely cutting upswing it's been on since the pilot.

Narcos

When? September 2nd on Netflix

Why? Narcos took everyone by storm last year and proved to be one of the streaming service's biggest hits. With season 2 set to place a larger focus on Pablo, we're giddy with anticipation to see where it can go from here.

Atlanta

When? September 6th at 10pm on FX

‘Don’t Breathe’ Director Fede Alvarez Isn’t Playing by Hollywood’s Rules

24 August 2016 8:00 AM, PDT | Indiewire | See recent Indiewire news »

Few indie filmmakers today have broken the rules of Hollywood like Uruguay-born horror director Fede Alvarez. Rather than parlaying a low-budget first film into a job directing a franchise horror movie, Alvarez flipped the script, remaking “The Evil Dead” as his debut film before going on to direct an original horror feature. How did Alvarez land the “Evil Dead” job without any feature film credits to his name?

“It was just based on Sam Raimi being insane and trusting me to write and direct that movie based on a short that I made,” Alvarez told IndieWire in a recent interview. The writer-director of 1981’s “The Evil Dead,” Raimi served as a producer on the 2013 remake.

Alvarez’s second film is the home invasion thriller “Don’t Breathe,” which hits theaters Friday »

Snatch T.V. Series Coming Our Way

24 August 2016 2:46 AM, PDT | www.themoviebit.com | See recent TheMovieBit news »

Taking a look through Guy Ritchie’s back catalogue, you’ll be hard pressed to find a better example of the director’s cheeky, chaotic style than Snatch, the movie that gave us Brad Pitt as barely understandable gypsy and Alan Ford’s memorable crime boss Brick Top. Now, Snatch is following in the footsteps of Lethal Weapon, From Dusk Till Dawn, and Fargo, making the jump to t.v. with streaming service Crackle commissioning a new series based on the hit movie. The series will premiere it first series, made of ten one hour episodes, in 2017, and the synopsis promises a new story that will skew close to the source material: Inspired by a real life heist in London, Snatch centers on a group of twenty-something, up and coming hustlers who stumble upon a truck load of stolen gold bullion and are suddenly thrust into the high-stakes world of organized crime. »

DVD Review – Southbound (2015)

8 August 2016 2:20 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Southbound, 2015.

Directed by Roxanne Benjamin, David Bruckner, Patrick Horvath and Radio Silence.

Starring Chad Villella, Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, Kristina Pesic, Dana Gould, Zoe Cooper and David Yow.

Synopsis:

An anthology of five interlocking stories that centre on different groups of people journeying on a desolate stretch of desert

highway.

Despite the promise of the V/H/S and The ABC’s of Death franchises, neither anthology series quite lived up to the ideas that must have looked wonderful on the page. Not that they were terrible or total disasters – although V/H/S: Viral does veer that way – but they just seemed to miss that vital something that made the old standards such as Creepshow and From Beyond the Grave so much fun, leaving the Halloween themed Trick ‘r Treat and Tales of Halloween as the standard bearers for modern anthologies, but they aren’t necessarily movies that work very well »

Take A Break From The Suicide Squad Drama With This Funny Spoof

Courtesy of Loot Crate, check out this Suicide Squad spoof which imagines a Quentin Tarantino version of the "Worst of the worst."  The video features Django from Django Unchained, The Bride and Gogo from Kill Bill, Aldo from Inglourious Basterds and Jules Winnfield from Pulp Fiction.  "Django? He shoots people. The Bride? She slices people. Aldo? He scalps people. Jules? He shoots people...again. Gogo? She's just crazy.  " Back in January, Tarantino himself confirmed that all of his films are (kinda) connected and in his own way, established that he's created two separate Cinematic Universes from in his body of work.  "There’s the realer than real universe, alright, and all the characters inhabit that one. But then there’s this movie universe. And so “From Dusk Till Dawn,” “Kill Bill,” they all take place in this special movie universe. So basically when the characters of “Reservoir Dogs” or “Pulp Fiction, »

Find Out When ‘From Dusk till Dawn’ Season 3 Premieres! Plus, See the First Trailer!

29 July 2016 5:31 PM, PDT | TVovermind.com | See recent TVovermind.com news »

While it may not be the most watched show in the world, From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series has been a fun action romp since it premiered a couple of years back. The show’s first season was, largely, an expanded adaptation of the Robert Rodriguez film of the same name, but the second season really kicked things up a notch as it greatly expanded the series’ mythology while delivering strong action-oriented (and delightfully supernatural) episodes each week. The series was renewed for a third season before the season 2 finale, and it’s now been announced that From Dusk till Dawn‘s third season
