"Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking your Juice in the Hood" is a parody of several U.S. films about being in the 'Hood', for instance "Boyz n the Hood", "South Central", "Menace II Society", "Higher Learning" and "Juice". We follow Ashtray as he returns to the place he grew up in and meet his father and his basket-case friends. Crazy stuff happens. For example, Ashtray is older than his father and his best friend Loc Dog's grandmother is a trigger-happy old lady who blames her eccentric-looking kid for not being tough enough. Finally, the movie that proves that Justice isn't always Poetic, Jungle Fever isn't always pretty, and Higher Learning can be a waste of time.

Better than "Friday"
1 October 1999 | by (usa) – See all my reviews

This movie has the privelge of being better than the movie "Friday", it has taken the spot for top "ghetto" comedy movie ever. The story isn't what's great, but the acting an great spoofs of "serious ghetto movies" is! Making fun of many movies, "Don't Be A Menace..." takes a back seat to no comedy. A definite must see comedy.
