Great Movie For Kids
luvsbordercollie21 April 2001
This video is a great movie for kids probably ages 7 and up. The plot makes it scary for many children younger than that. Billy (Michael Galeota, now most famous for Disney Channel's "The Jersey") witnesses a neighbor commiting murder. Unable to make his mother believe him, Billy, his little brother, Kade (played by Michael Galeota's real life brother, Jimmy) and their friends set out to prove what really happened.

Still love it!
lvgoold21 July 2007
I saw this movie when I was 6 or 7 years old, I loved it! It used to be on TV quite a lot but then after a year or two it was no longer on and I completely forgot about it until a year ago. I could not remember the cast or the title only the plot, which is the most annoying thing! After five months of rattling my brain, looking on the internet and IMDb, finally I found it and I bought it straight away.

Billy witnesses a crime, but no-one believes him apart from his friends and younger brother. So they themselves take on the challenge to solve the mystery and uncover the suspect's true intentions.

Now I am 16 and I have only had "Clubhouse Detectives" for a few months but I cannot stop watching it. Even if I tried I could not hate this film. If you like kid's adventures: The Goonies etc. Then you will surely love this as well.

I liked it
bateman-124 March 2006
I guess it did have a couple violent parts, but for older kids, 12 or so it is probably okay. I watched it as an adult and liked it. Except for the inevitable murder (it is a murder mystery, after all), the other violent part was self defence. I thought it was suspenseful, which could scare younger children. (I remember being scared by the Wizard of Oz and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.) It didn't hurt that it was filmed in Utah, where I'm from. The reason I only rated it a seven out of ten was that it was an independent film, maybe a little on the amateur side, and it is a kids' show, but it was pretty good. I'm gonna see if I can find it for sale someplace, maybe amazon or someplace.

Cool

I don't remember much about this movie. I watched it when I was 5 or 6, and it was one of the first movies I saw on TV. It made a lasting impression though, because I haven't been able to stop thinking about it. I didn't remember the title until I finally decided to search for it on the internet, and I'm so glad I can finally watch it again. It was a good movie, lots of suspense, it made you sit on the edge of your seat. I remember it as being kinda scary, but it isn't actually that scary. I can honestly say this movie shaped my childhood. My brothers don't remember watching it, but if they did I know they would feel the same way. I loved it and i hope you guys do too.

My favorite kid movie
m-c_squared30 September 2006
I first saw this when I was 11 and even though I am now 18, this has remained my favorite. Why? Well, even though it is an independent film I thought the plot line was good and the kids didn't act as badly as one would expect. There were moments, for sure, but overall the acting was good. If you thought about certain scenes too deeply the effect was ruined, but that goes for any movie. This is for ages 12 and up and although they repeated a certain word more than 20 times during the movie, it wasn't as cheesy as kid movies today are. The added bonus was that there were no "adolecent romances," which would have ruined the charm.

I wouldn't reccommend it!!

"Clubhouse Detectives" is boring, pointless, and way too mature for kids. It makes them all excited then scares them with murder scenes and suspense. Why target young children with this type of film? Suspense is okay, but a women being strangled and kids threatening a man with baseball bats isn't exactly the happy suspense that kids are looking for.

Movie

Warning: Spoilers
This movie was shown to my 9 year old daughter in school! I think that this is not supposed to be shown in school because of it is rated pg. the teacher should have asked all of the parents. A man strangled and killed a woman. And then, he buried her. The kid dug her HAND up from the soil! That is not right for children. It is okay for my daughter because she is mature and can watch that stuff, but I think that you are not allowed to watch PG movies. This is not good for children! A man murder a woman and then burry her. I will only rate this 5 out of ten. Is was a good movie, but too much murdering. I just do not like how this movie is. There is already a mother of the child who saw this movie complaining about how this should not be shown in school. I really hope that these comments will make the next Clubhouse Spies better. That is all I want to say about this movie. I forgot to say, but the language is not very good. They say butt all of the time. I just want to fill up ten lines so I can submit this already....Yes...yes.

Highly Recommended For Families!
novastar_610 November 2006
Warning: Spoilers
Contrary to popular belief, this is a great movie, filled with mystery and suspense, and some comedy, ideal for families and kids especially, over seven years old most likely.

It opens with Billy Ruckman, a boy who comes off as being very protective about whom his widowed mother dates. He and his little brother, Kade, and his friends team up and act like brothers to scare off anyone they don't like, and it works. With her date canceled, their mother Vicky Ruckman, is invited to go see their neighbor, Michael Chambers play in an opera, which means Billy and Kade have to go along. Another woman in the crowd is interested in Michael's music, but not for the same reason as Vicky who is just intrigued by the beauty of the music.

Marcello Janowitz has come to town and finds out that Michael has been passing off the music she created as his own and has been getting paid for it. After the opera, she asks Kade to direct her to Michael Chambers' house, which is where she meets her fate. An argument over her music and the money owed and what she intends to do to ruin him, leads to her death - a murder, silhouetted by the blinds, which Billy witnesses from his bathroom window. The next day he and his friends band together and decide to find the missing body, hidden in Chambers' house before he gets back. An adventure filled with chaos and close calls ensues from there, and the Clubhouse Detectives are determined to find this murdered lady before they become the next victims.

Suspense is the key to this movie's terror that will snatch the viewers, kids and adults. There is no blood or gore, very little violence, very little if any language, a couple of crude lines (but what kids' movie of today doesn't have any and nobody complains about them?) All in all, a fantastic little murder/mystery for the family, bound to have your heart pounding until near the very end.

I loved this movie when I was a kid
cjmrichards29 July 2019
Yeah there's murdering in it, but as a kid in the 90s, that kind of horror in movies was normal, people grow to be way too sensitive nowadays, I still think it was a great movie!
