I hate the DVD commentary but loved the film.

Aprikoser is Swedish for 'Apricot'. Oddly, on the DVD (" Short: International Release #3"), this film did not have subtitles for this film. Instead, on the commentary option, a person translates over top of the original audio AND makes comments about the film--sort of off the top of her head. Most of the comments either were pointless or actually ruined the suspense by saying things like "I love the part coming up next"! It was like watching a movie with an annoying child sitting next to you who insisted on talking and talking and explaining. I just wanted a direct translation--not this. However, I cannot blame the makers of APRIKOSER because I don't think that they did this audio track or had anything to do with it.

This is an animated film that is very, very unusual in style. It is very hard to describe but seems to be a combination of techniques--producing a truly unique and lovely animation--like a children's story book coming alive.

The story itself is about a little boy who goes to the beach with his uncle. The world is all seen through his little eyes and it's pretty cute stuff. Instead of describing all that happens, just see it for yourself. And hopefully you can find a subtitled version or at least one with dubbing--the version I watched was just bad unless you understand Swedish.
