Michael T. Weiss,
Said to be based on the the television health personality Dr. "Red" Duke, "Buck James" focuses on the career and adventures of a Texas hospital emergency room chief who is also passionately devoted to ranching.
After spending years in the Peruvian jungle during his tour in Army Special Forces, Cascade PD Detective James Ellison developed hyperactive senses, which came back to him five years after his return to the US. He can see people in darkened windows at night from two hundred yards, hear the music playing on the radio of the car he's chasing after he's lost sight of it, and can distinguish between wood and plastic after both have been in a three thousand degree fire. Blair Sandburg, a local anthropology student, tells Ellison that he is a "Sentinel," who in ancient tribes would protect the village and seek out game using such hyperactive senses. Sandburg becomes Ellison's back-watcher and teacher of how to use his new powers as Ellison brings a whole new edge to the war on crime in Cascade, Washington. Written by

The series was originally intended to be set in Seattle, but city officials asked the producers to change so as to not give their town a reputation as a crime scene. Thus, the fictional city of Cascade came into being. The only remnant of Seattle was an undeleted reference to the Seattle Supersonics in the pilot episode. The Cascade basketball team became the Jaguars in later episodes. See more »
Incacha, help me!
Why do you call me?
Am I losing my mind?
Do not be afraid to walk through your dreams. You must allow your spirit to speak.
But all I see is death in my dreams.
If there is darkness, then you must face it. Darkness will flee from the light but the light must shine from within. I can not bring it to you. What do you see? What do you fear?
This is not me!

I caught this show by accident when it came out,and was hooked. There was just enough Sci-Fi to keep your imagination active and not too outrageous. Ellison was portrayed as a total Superman like some action stars of the era.
Has anyone heard anything about their release dates? Or has anything been mentioned?
This series was one of the better ones on UPN - shame they didn't keep it going. Does anyone know why they didn't keep it going? Did one of the actors get greedy?
Should anyone hear about future releases please let me know. I will be eagerly awaiting seasons 2 & 3.
