[First Look] Natalie Portman and Christian Bale Play on the Beach For Terrence Malick’s Next Films

31 May 2012 9:35 AM, PDT | The Film Stage | See recent The Film Stage news »

I’m starting to think Terrence Malick may be beachside for the entirety of his next film(s). We already saw Christian Bale and Wes Bentley relax on the beach for one of Malick’s next back-to-back features, either Knight of Cups and/or the previously titled Lawless. Now we’ve got official confirmation that Natalie Portman is part of the production, as the first set photos of her and Bale have surfaced, seeing them return to the Malibu shores. This marks the Black Swan actress’ first production since she took a break to deliver her child. For Bale, it’s his first post-Batman role after The Dark Knight Rises, along with the currently shooting Out of the Furnace. There’s no telling if these are just test shoots or something that will actually make it into the film, but it’s nice to see things moving along.

The Voice Semifinal Performance Recap: Runs, Baby, Runs [Updated]

30 April 2012 7:21 PM, PDT | | See recent news »

It’s not easy being a contestant on The Voice. Not only must these fledgling artists show extreme patience at getting upstaged in the midst of their critiques by chants of “I love you Adam!”/”I love you Xtina!” (possibly delivered by Adam’s and Xtina’s assistants, disguised in trench coats and sunglasses) but they also have to endure backstage interviews in the Sprint lounge conducted by a babbling ponytail attached to a stem-cell smoothie. (Sometimes that entity is referred to as a “Christina Milian.”)

This week’s semifinal show, however, proved that sometimes it’s worth putting up »

The Voice Recap: Oh Yes It's Ladies' Flight

24 April 2012 9:52 PM, PDT | | See recent news »

It’s been a tough couple of weeks for women on The Voice — and not just because social media dingbat Christina Milian’s interview skills make DWTS timeslot competitor/world’s most curvaceous robot Brooke Burke look like Christiane Amanpour. Indeed, from the show’s two most recent results-show telecasts, we’ve seen America vote four consecutive men into the semifinal rounds, leaving eight individual ladies completely dependant on their mentors to help them find their way to the four remaining spots in the semifinals.

Which isn’t to imply that the ladies of Season 2 haven’t been primarily responsible for their own precarious fortunes. »

The Voice Recap: Pick Your Battles

6 March 2012 7:40 AM, PST | | See recent news »

Xtina sat in her boudoir while her team listened up. But girlfriend did not serve magnolia wine. In the Battle Round heat, is where her singers began to freak. Gitchie, gitchie yaya da da. Gitchie gitchie ya ya here.

Oh-whoa-oh-oh-oh-oh, apologies for the unfortunate riff on “Lady Marmalade.” But it was hard not to take the plunge after seeing the Lady Aguilera train her team for The Voice Battle Rounds in a brothel-esque chamber — complete with candelabras, velvet animal-print furniture, 10,000 ornate throw pillows, a taxidermized owl, and yet another “peeka–boobs” blouse from Xtina herself. Should Ivy Lynn Smash Karen? Which TV Doll Is Creepiest? Is Dan a Gossip? And More Questions!

We’ve got questions, and you’ve (maybe) got answers! With another week of TV gone by, here are some queries we are going to throw at you, from shows including SmashThe Voice, Gossip Girl, Ringer and Revenge!

2 | Which timeline do Blue Bloods‘ Reagans live in that the Jets were still playing? (Or perhaps they were getting oddly excited for an airing of West Side Story?)

'The Voice' Season 2: Tony Lucca talks Christina Aguilera, says 'it was legitimately cool to reconnect'

6 February 2012 3:58 PM, PST | Zap2It - From Inside the Box | See recent Zap2It - From Inside the Box news »

After the Super Bowl, fans of "The Voice" witnessed an awkward moment between coach Christina Aguilera and her former "Mickey Mouse Club" castmate, Tony Lucca. He auditioned for the show, but even after he said his name, she didn't recognize him until he'd left the stage. She ultimately did go find him and apologize for not remembering him.

Lucca and the other "The Voice" contestants participated in a press call on Monday to discuss their blind auditions. Lucca admitted that because producers played up the history between himself and Aguilera before he took the stage for the auditions, he was a little nervous about how it would play out.

"The reunion was bizarre in a lot of ways," he told us. "Obviously the producers and I had agreed that was an interesting piece of the story, so we covered a lot of ground on that leading to the blind audition. »

The Voice Recap: The X(tina) Factor

6 February 2012 5:07 AM, PST | | See recent news »

The Voice is different from the other 47 reality singing competitions on TV right now “because it puts vocal ability first,” host Carson Daly boasted during Sunday night’s post-Super Bowl season premiere.

Of course, The Voice also stands out for a few other reasons: it puts Carson in a Kia (instead of an ominous 18-wheeler, like X Factor‘s Steve Jones, or turning him into Ford’s plaything, a la Ryan Seacrest); it doesn’t believe in giving airtime to ham sandwiches with no discernable singing talent; and it isn’t afraid to expose seven-eighths of Christina Aguilera’s heaving »

'The Voice': Meet Tony Lucca, Christina Aguilera's old 'Mickey Mouse Club' pal

5 February 2012 8:36 PM, PST | Zap2It - From Inside the Box | See recent Zap2It - From Inside the Box news »

"The Voice" is never shy about the fact that they invite talent to come audition as opposed to holding "American Idol" style open auditions. As a result, a lot of the contestants on the show have enjoyed a modicum of prior success and are using "The Voice" to move toward the mainstream, household-name level.

Tony Lucca, who was on "The Mickey Mouse Club" beginning when he was 14, is one of those contestants. A longtime boyfriend of "Felicity" star Keri Russell, Lucca is now married and has a son. He starred on the short-lived "Malibu Shores" alongside Russell and toured with *Nsync (and former "Mmc" buds Justin Timberlake and Jc Chasez) for a brief period. Recently, his music was prominently featured on "Friday Night Lights" -- very prominently. "Devil Town" was him.

So did Christina Aguilera recognize her old co-star's voice when he began to sing "Trouble" on the show? Nope. »
