Malcolm McGee is a responsible and sensible 20-something who ends up sharing a Kansas City apartment and a business venture with relentlessly enthusiastic tow truck owner Eddie Sherman. A fast talker with outlandish frenetic energy, Eddie's charming schemes always seems to get the two into hot water. But no matter what the situation, these opposites always end up bailing each other out -- even if they drive each other crazy. When the guys unexpectedly became recipients of a considerable sum of money, Malcolm and Eddie decided to buy not only the old Irish pub below their apartment, but the entire building, including Eddie's garage, as an investment. As new bar owners, the guys gave the place a facelift by turning it into a sports bar and renaming it McGee's. There, they hang out with local regulars, including Tim, a gentle giant working as a male nurse, and Nicolette, the motor-mouth police academy cadet with a love-crazed obsession for Eddie. As Malcolm manages McGee's and Eddie tries... Written by Anonymous

Did You Know?

In an Archive of American Television interview, Malcolm-Jamal Warner revealed that he was frustrated making Malcolm & Eddie because he felt that the producers of the show were catering to black stereotypes in order to cater to UPN's urban audience, which Warner (due to his experience with The Cosby Show) felt were easy and not necessary. Despite this (and tensions between himself and co-star Eddie Griffin) he stayed on hoping that the shows modest success would guarantee a good syndication deal once the show reached 100 episodes. Unfortunately, the show was canceled 12 episodes short of that goal. See more »

A Decent Show
1 April 2006 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

It was a decent show. Malcolm Jamal Warner and Eddie Griffin had pretty good chemistry together. However I think that if this show wasn't on UPN it would have probably lasted longer. The show is a funny situational comedy. It's probably one of the early successful UPN sitcoms. It wasn't the greatest show around but it was still very enjoyable to watch. With characters like Nicolette and Tim the big gentle guy the show was pretty funny. For a UPN sitcom pretty decent. Nicolette Vandross was the loud woman that loves talking all the time. she use to love Eddie all the time when the show first started in its first two season. after that she stop loving Eddie. Holly was a good looking woman that Malcolm love a lot. holly never really payed Malcolm no attention though. Malcolm and holly went out on dates sometimes though. Tim was the big heavy guy that was funny to watch on TV. Eddie and Malcolm make funny jokes about Tim all the time. Malcolm & Eddie TV Show only lasted four years though. to me this show should have lasted longer. it was a funny show to watch and it had lots of talented characters on the show too.
