Wally and Beaver Clever of the 90's
22 July 2002 | by (Palos Park, IL USA) – See all my reviews

It is too bad this show ran only 3 years. The show was taped at Nickolden's Studios in Orlando, and I think the show is taking place in Chicago, IL. Each show Kenan and Kel (mostly Kenan) makes a plan to get into trouble, just like Wally, Beaver and thier friends did in Leave it to Beaver (1957-1963). Kenan Thompson plays Kenan Rockmore, and Kel Mitchell plays Kel Kimble. Ken Foree plays Kenan's dad Roger Rockmore who hates Kel, Teal Marchande plays Kenan's mother Sheryl Rockmore, Vanessa Baden plays Kenan's kid sister Kyra Rockmore (who seems to be in love with Kel). Dan Frischman plays Kenan's boss Chris Potter who always says stories about him and his "mother" or most shows he does. The rest of the cast memembers either started with the series and left later on, or came in late in the series run. Coolio sings the theme song. Before and after each epoide Kenan and Kel comes out on the stage (with the curtain closed) and talks to the people who had attended that epoisde. This series had a series of directors, Kim Fields, Linda Mendoza, Brain Robbins, Alan Rosen, Keith Truesdell and Malcolm-Jamal Warner. Even though the series ended in 1999, you can still catch repeats, (check for station and day and time in your city and State). 10/10
