Trevor Noah On Trump Ignoring First 100 Days: If Voters Chose The Number They Preferred “You Wouldn’t Be In The White House”

8 hours ago | Deadline TV | See recent Deadline TV news »

This Saturday marks Donald Trump's 100th day in office, or how The Daily Show's Trevor Noah called it on Monday night’s episode, "for us 15 years, but we're all living in Trump time so it's 100 days.” Calling it an “early milestone of presidential success,” Noah showed clips of former presidents Barack Obama, George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George H. W. Bush and Lyndon B. Johnson talking about the success they had in their First 100 Days in office. Adding that Trump has… »

In ‘President Show,’ Comedy Central’s Fake Trump Tackles Real Late-Night Rivals

23 hours ago | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

When President Donald Trump speaks, people hear many different sounds: A rallying cry for blue-collar America. A dog-whistle signal for extremists. A new philosophy that might shape the nation for the next several years.

Anthony Atamanuik picks up the faint strains of poetry.

“Trump speaks almost lyrically, like a refrain. He talks to himself. When he’s talking, he’s always telling himself what he is saying, and then he repeats it to confirm it to himself,” says the comedian. “He’s running and revising a concept over and over again. He will give it, and repeat, and return to it.”

People may debate whether the president should be lumped in with Alfred Tennyson, Carl Sandburg, and Ogden Nash, or even some guy who scrawls dirty limericks on a public bathroom wall. Yet they are likely to give Atamanuik, 42 years old, some leeway when he begins to interpret the nation’s 45th president as if he were »

Donald Trump to Hold Rally Same Night as White House Correspondents Dinner

22 April 2017 10:48 AM, PDT | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

In a counter-programming twist, president Donald Trump has scheduled a Pennsylvania rally the same night as the White House Correspondents Dinner.

“Next Saturday night I will be holding a Big rally in Pennsylvania. Look forward to it!” he tweeted on Saturday.

Trump had previously announced that he would skip the annual event in Washington D.C., breaking a long tradition of the president dining with, and often getting roasted by, the media. The White House staff also will forgo the event.

The dinner, hosted by the White House Correspondents’ Association, is set for April 29 at the Washington Hilton. Hasan Minhaj, correspondent for “The Daily Show,” will be the featured entertainer.

Jeff Mason, president of the Whca, said in a statement, “We will be celebrating the First Amendment at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner next week, and we look forward to doing just that.”

“The Daily Show’s” Michelle Wolf Has an HBO Comedy Special on the Way

Michelle Wolf on “Late Night with Seth Meyers

Michelle Wolf has a stand-up special in the works at HBO. Scheduled to tape this summer, the as-yet untitled project marks Wolf’s comedy special debut, The Hollywood Reporter writes. You may already be familiar with the comedian from her appearances on late-night TV. Wolf currently serves as an on-air contributor and writer for “The Daily Show With Trevor Noah” and from 2014–16 she worked as a writing supervisor and performer for “Late Night With Seth Meyers.”

“Night Train with Wyatt Cenac,” “Horace and Pete,” and “The Awesomes” are among Wolf’s acting credits. She was part of the writing teams for the 2016 Oscars and the 2014 Emmys.

Wolf originally moved to New York City with plans to work on Wall Street, “despite having no background in finance,” The Guardian reports. “I was an athlete in college, and Wall Street likes athletes because they’re very competitive people that are willing to do anything to win,” she explained. “So I got a job at Bear Stearns in the summer of 2007.” Wolf began taking improv classes in 2008 and performing stand-up in 2011.

The HBO special will be written by Wolf and directed by Neal Brennan (“Chappelle’s Show”).

“Michelle is one of the most inspired comics working today. She is smart, sharp, and fiercely funny,” said Nina Rosenstein, executive vice president of HBO programming. “We couldn’t be more excited to present her first stand-up special to our audience.”

Wolf added, “What can I say, it’s HBO, it’s a dream. I’m mostly just trying not to get hit by a bus before I tape.”

The Daily Show Looks at Bill O’Reilly’s Most Racist Moments

20 April 2017 1:30 PM, PDT | TVovermind.com | See recent TVovermind.com news »

Clearly one of the most talked about topics of yesterday as well as today is the firing of Fox news host Bill O’Reilly.   It’s no surprise that late night shows were celebrating his ousting, so naturally I’ll be posting on who had the best “roasts” as much as I can.  While Colbert’s was decent I’ve grown fond of Trevor Noah’s bashing on The Daily Show.   As soon as Noah made the announcement (which of course followed his announcement that Serena Williams is pregnant and that every time a black baby comes into this world an old white man must fall)

Trevor Noah spent ten minutes on Wednesday night’s “Daily Show” to lay into O’Reilly’s career on Fox News. “Looking back on O’Reilly’s greatest hits, the one thing that’s hard to believe is that it took this long for him to lose his job,” Noah said.

When the news of Bill O’Reilly‘s firing broke, there was only one pundit we wanted to hear from: Stephen Colbert. (No, not that one.)

Trevor Noah says Donald Trump and Alex Jones are “Doing the Same Thing”

As many of you know by now, Alex Jones is trying to win a custody battle which has been nothing short of bizarre.  Publicity began with this last week when Jones’ lawyer claimed that Jones is a “performance artist” who’s been “playing a character” for years.  This comment was made to suggest that Jones could never be that kind of conspiracy theorist psycho lunatic in “real life.”  What kind of parent would he be?  Yeah, exactly.  But is it possible that Jones shares something very familiar with the President of the United States?  Trevor Noah thinks so. “The Daily Show

Comedy Central’s latest development slate is diverse in more ways than one.

Not only has the cable network put together several new series with performers of color at the center, but the three shows picked up Tuesday by Comedy Central are all very different.

Ordered to series are the stand-up/musical show “The New Negroes,” the comedy game show “Taskmaster” and the scripted comedy “Corporate.” In development are shows from creators including Awkwafina, Neal Brennan, Arturo Castro, Franchesca Ramsey, Noël Wells and Flint Wainess, among others.

“The network when I got here was pretty traditionally targeted toward young white guys, both in terms of who the audience was and who was creating the shows for the audience,” said Comedy Central president Kent Alterman. “We started changing that a few years ago by expanding that into having funny women on the network, with Amy Schumer and Broad City and a lot more since. »
