"Bryggeren" is an intriguing and shocking family drama between two generations. It's a story about a simple craftsman who becomes one of the most powerful men in Denmark. It's also a story about love, that is distorted, cowed and abused so that it ends up in hate and destruction. And finally it's a story about the fates of people from different social classes. Jacob Jacobsen (Jens Jørn Spottag) is the main character who takes over the role of brewer after his father's death. His ambitions are great, perhaps too great because maintenance of his inheritance becomes his most important job in life; more important than family, which causes some very dramatic clashes.
