W.E.I.R.D. WORLD is a little seen gem that was produced by the creative team of Gilbert Adler, Richard Donner, David Giler, Walter Hill, Alan Katz, Joel Silver, and Robert Zemeckis. With no less than the seven prolific producers, it's hard to believe that such a picture wouldn't receieve a theatrical release, let alone a video or DVD release. In the eleven years since first premiered on television, it is rarely been seen and never spoken about. A google search will display few results. There's not even a wikipedia page for it. With the extremely limited amount of information on the movie, one would think that it is a disaster from start to finish, a turkey that every one involved would rather forget about. While I can't speak for the talent involved, I can say with certainty that W.E.I.R.D WORLD is not as bad as it would appear. It's an unusual, competently directed oddity similar to the "Tales from the Crypt" live-action series. The cinematography is well done, the cast decent, and enough interesting concepts to keep the viewer from getting bored during the slower scenes. That said, it's been a number of years since I have viewed the feature so my memory isn't crystal clear on the ending, though I do remember wondering after viewing why it wasn't put into theaters. The best one can do is look for a bootleg online. 7/10
