Seal Team Commander Casey Ryback has retired from the Navy since the conclusion of the events in the first movie, and is now a chef at the Mile High Cafe in Denver, Colorado. Ryback is taking his niece Sarah Ryback on vacation, to reconnect and commiserate with her after the death of her parents. They board a train traveling westbound through the Rocky Mountains from Denver to LA. With the help of gun-for-hire Marcus Penn a couple dozen of his mercenaries, ex-CIA brain (and mentally unstable) Travis Dane commandeers the train, takes the passengers and crew hostage, and sets up a mobile control center. He hacks into the CIA database and gains control of a Top-Secret defence satellite he designed during his Agency days that has just been deployed. Funded by various foreign interests, he stands to make 1 billion dollars for using the space weapon to blow up the Eastern seaboard by targeting a nuclear reactor housed beneath the Pentagon. Dane taunts the Joint Chiefs in the Pentagon ... Written by
The shots of Ryback hanging off a mountain and climbing up the rope were actually shot at Stoney Point Park in Chatsworth, Los Angeles. The movie crew drew the ire of local rock climbers for painting the rocks to match the scenery of footage shot in Colorado. See more »
When Dane walks up to the door of the sleeping car that Linda and David were having sex in right before the train was taken over. He looks in and gives his line "Well, here you are. The last place anyone expected to find you." When the formally love making couple are shown Linda's hair is neat looking with her hair all in place but after the camera cuts back to her a second time after Dane says "Amazing." her hair is messed up with several locks of hair covering her left eye. It would have made more since for the two camera cuts to be switched around since her hair should have been messed up first and then she could have off camera for a brief second that she brushed it out of her eye. Instead it makes it look like she messed her hair up on purpose. What was she trying to do? Hide her eye? See more »
This is one of the best sequels to Steven Seagal. Under Siege 2: Dark Territory is not your ordinary hijack-action-adventure films. Since I do like trains, this movie was a plus for me. The part in this film was everyone, including Ryback(Seagal) got to be part of the action. His niece Sarah, played by Katherine Heigl, knew how to fight back. Bobby Zachs, played by Morris Chestnut, didn't shy away from the action, unless he saw Ryback kill one of the hijackers. The funny part was when one of the female passengers flashed her cleavage saying she "broke her bra", the perfect distraction to the hijacker. Great cast, great action, and a great plot I say. I don't care for the critics' opinion, I just liked this movie the way it is! Rating 3 out of 5 stars. 8 out of 10!
