A true life story, that is definitely worth the watch!
gurl_amy9 November 2003
I really like this film... when I started to watch it I thought I would get bored pretty soon, but it surprised me... I thought it was a great film and have seen it a few times now. The characters are believable and I have to say that I fell in love with Brian Austin Green all over again (the first time being Beverly Hills 90210). I would recommend this film if you are a fan of his, but I do agree with another comment made earlier, that the ending is sort of disappointing. I would have loved it to turn out a little different! Never mind though, good gripping story.

better than most rape TV movie
SnoopyStyle5 February 2016
Caitlin Rose (Tiffani-Amber Thiessen) attends a private prom party with the popular jocks known as The Crew that includes a fun Carrie prank. After rejecting Jace, she hooks up with Ethan (Brian Austin Green). Jace is unrelenting and engineers Caitlin catching Ethan with another girl. Despite many rejections, Jace talks Caitlin to let him into her home. He rapes her while her mother (Isabella Hofmann) is away. Her little sister Junie hears the rape. Her friends don't believe her and everybody starts bullying her in favor of the football jock.

This is a teen rape network TV movie. It's surprisingly effective. I attribute that mostly on Thiessen. She has a very compelling persona and her character has a harrowing story. Brian Austin Green is also quite effective. It's more compelling than most in this genre.

An average movie based on a sad true story
micaml21 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I gave this movie 7 stars because real-life stories like this need to be told.

This movie is about Caitlin who is a beautiful and sweet teenage girl who wants to be accepted into the most popular crew in the small town she lives in. I am not sure how long she has been living in this town when the movie begins.

Catlin goes through hell when she is inducted into this crew and this movie was thought provoking and sad. It gives you a real glimpse into the extreme way young athletes can be treated like Gods in their school or town.

One example is how the principal at the high school pretty much lets the main two characters, Jace and Ethan do whatever they want. Ethan is the quarterback on the football team and he is the leader of this crew.

Ethan has plans to leave the town and go on to bigger and better things. Ethan seems like a pretty decent guy who hides behind his ever so cool and laid back bad boy persona. One good thing about him is he takes care of his ill mother.

Some of this movie was simply uncomfortable to watch, especially as you know the movie is based on a true story.

Jace is wired wrong and thinks the girls in their crew must do whatever they say. There are rules that must be followed. Catlin's friend Abby, seems to let these guys sleep with her whenever they want.

It is obvious from the start of the movie that Caitlin likes Ethan and there is a connection. He can see she is different from other girls.

Jace tries to persuade Caitlin to spend time alone with him after she is inducted into their crew. Caitlin says no and chooses to sleep with Ethan. This makes Jace become jealous and aggressive.

Jace continues to push and tries to persuade Caitlin to hook up with him. Then he takes things way too far. He rapes her in her own home, with her younger sister in the house.

It is disgusting and disturbing for a teenage boy to do this and then act like she wanted him.

Jace tells other people in the crew and at school that Caitlin was all over him and they hooked up.

Caitlin confronts Jace and reveals the truth at a diner with dozens of people around.

Since Jace continues to lie, Ethan agrees that Caitlin will pay for lying to the crew.

After this the entire crew and other kids in the school bully Caitlin, writing disgusting things on the school walls, on the front of the building and alienating her. Later the entire crew get Catlin in an abandoned house, hold her down and cut her hair. Even her friend Abby joins in.

When the school won't take any action against these bullies, a lawyer is bought in. It is at this moment that Jace tells Ethan that he did rape Caitlin, and that he wants to do it again.

Ethan goes to talk to Caitlin and reveals his true feelings for her. He cannot stop thinking about her. This is probably not a normal thing in this crew because they seem to just use these girls.

What follows, does not really make sense. As someone else said in their review, if Ethan was the leader and most popular guy in school or even the town as the quarterback on the football team. Why did his crew turn on him so quickly?

The movie felt rushed once Caitlin and Ethan started to mend their relationship.

They are chased and attacked by some of the crew and Jace tries to stab Ethan.

The movie had a disappointing ending. I was hoping to see the lawyer take legal action against the principal, to the point that she never got another job working with children again.

I wanted Jace to get jail time. He was sick and twisted, he needed therapy.

I wish we had seen his parents reaction too.

The movie ended with Caitlin leaving for college. Ethan ruined his chances of getting into a good college and has little chance to leave his small town.

Some of the acting in this movie is below average. However, despite the outcome of the movie, Tiffanie (Caitlin) and Brian (Ethan) have great chemistry at the beginning of the movie, it is obvious they were dating in real life.

Great Movie

Warning: Spoilers
*Spoilers Entail*

She Fought Alone was a great movie! It's a stroy about Caitlin Rose (Thiessan) who so badly wanted to be popular and join the popular crew at school. When she hooks up with the leader of The Crew, the football team, Ethan (Austin Green), things take a turn for the worst. Caitlin believes that Ethan likes her, but is mistaken.

Another boy, Jace (Lipper), likes Caitlin a lot. He shows up at her house one night to 'talk.' She lets him in but only soon to realize that this was a mistake. Jace proceeds to rape Caitlin.

The next day, Caitlin doesn't go to school, but she is fairly messed up. When she does go back to school, there are rumors and things written all over the school. The rest of the movie is about her fight to beat the jerk who raped her. Ethan and the crew actually do some failry mean stuff to her too, but then Ethan realizes that he may like Caitlin more than he thought...

The movie ends well and all. The movie has a great deal of realism because things like this movie happen all the time. Hope you enjoy the flick!!!

Small Town Drama
I saw this movie many moons ago and re-watched it recently. I'll admit I was a young guy at the time and watching Tiffani Thiessen was the main appeal.

The story revolves around her character being raped by a football player and nobody believing her. Instead she gets totally shamed.

As a grown up I think the movie was trying to speak more about small towns and how hard it can be to get out (if one so desires). It's not a bad watch.

A Very Good Movie
aprilw35714 March 2005
When I saw this movie, I was amazed that it was only a TV movie. I think this movie should have been in theaters. I have seen many movies that are about rape, but this one stands out. This movie has a kind of realism that is very rarely found in movies today, let alone TV movies. It tells a story that I'm sure is very realistic to many rape victims in small towns today, and I found it to be very believable(which is something hard to find in other rape centered movies). I also thought that Tiffani Theissen and Brian Austin Green were awesome in the parts that they played. I definitely recommend this movie to anyone who enjoys movies that have a bit of a harsh reality to them. I enjoyed it very much.

The truth behind the movie.....
jotchy12 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Hi, so anyone who claims this movie is a true story need to do some research. It is not what happened. 3 girls were the first three people to file lawsuits for sexual harrassment at the same time. NBC bought the rights to all 3 of their life stories, took parts and pieces and then made up what they had to add or change so it would be a better movie. I know all of this because I used to date on of these girls. In fact I later married and divorced her and we have 2 kids (she has 5 with 3 guys but custody of none. I raised them alone. Boy and girl since birth. She pd no support. Prison 5 times +. She was raped and harassed beyond your comprehension. But it was her click of best friends who were present in the room when the rape happened that turned on her. Lifelong best friends did not believe her and turned on her. The man accused of rape spent a year in jail. Then charges were dismissed. Her life was hell in her words until she met me. We met a year after the rape. The day we began dating, the he'll and harrassment all just STOPPED that day. In her words. Because she was dating me, everyone quit. For 2 years. Nada. We broke up. Went separate ways and almost instantaneously she was treated like dirt again not by or because of me. People quit because they would not treat her like that when she was my girlfriend out of respect and decency to me. When we split up the town started in on her again. I protected her and i alone brought love and with me the only peace she had in years worths of misery. We split for over 5 years. All the fallout long since passed. Then we reconnected got married had 2 kids together for a total of 3. Then got divorced 4 years later and I was blessed to be given the opportunity to raise them myself. Single fathers were a myth in that state. I chose to be a daddy. It's been amazing. An honor. And unconditional love and support from a loving parent. The rapist was a rapist not a football player. And unlike the fictional movie he and I were never friends. I did not partake in the abuse. In fact I met her over a year after the rape, harassment, her coast to coast talk show appearances, including Maury Povich, Sally Jesse Raphael, the phil Donahue show etc. The lawsuit, the charges and the year he spent in jail, all of it was unknown to me or by me . I had never heard of any of it until we started dating and i fell in love with her. Then she told me all about it, gave me her whole story and history. Everyone told me to run. Do you know what you are getting yourself into? I loved her for the person she was and ignored all else and didn't care the consequences. I Was an honor student, star athlete, student council, lifelong boyscout, top 2 percentile IQ on the planet. And tough as nails. No football player raped her. And the rapist and I have never been friendly at all. All those twists and fictional changes were done by the writers of NBC. So people would actually warch and like the movie. The issues addressed in the movie needed an audience to help others find strength. To help someone or many ones out there who are victimized daily. Anyone who can relate to anything in this fictional adaptation of events I hope you found a voice or again find you in some peace and a return to be able to smile and shine. Was there I know what happened and anyone could verify this stuff easy enough but chose not to. Stop the lies. I was even accused by name of being a rapist on one of the movie forums. By name. Their entire story trying to explain the truth about what happened had absolutely no clue any of what happened. Then ironically enough they became my abuser falsely blaming my involvement in any of the events. We had never met yet. And if any of the lies were true I ask you to think about it.... we would have never reconnected got married and had children. I don't deserve any of this garbage. I was the calm in her storm. I am an honorable guy and a loving daddy. I am considering litigation against the user that publicly falsely and with malice intent coupled with ignorance and a motivation to find personal relevance and inject themselves in other people's lives. I hope you understand the pain spreading lies and untruths can and have caused my good name, to destroy my reputation, attack my character, and hurt me online to any up to potentionally every person on the planet whom has or will use the internet in the future to find is going to come with legal consequences . A good person would not do that. Libel and slander are malicious and have caused unretractable harm toward me and my children. Irreparable harm and public shame. I would like to forgive you someday if you admit your grievous mistakes and recant these vile accusations immediately and apologize publicly. There is nothing in this post that I cannot prove with documented evidence. Thank you. And please think twice before attacking anyone's character online publicly. Once you type the damage cannot be fixed or removed. If this post is not approved to let help right the wrong, you can also expect a lawsuit. Be in life a person worthy of being remembered. She did suffer that is the truth. But I loved her then and still do today.

Based on story of my life
sandiwright22 February 2008
my name is Heather and i am the girl whose story this movie was based on. I want to thank all of you who saw this movie and enjoyed it. as crude and harsh as some of the things that were depicted in this movie were, it didn't really even come close to describing how bad things actually were. not to mention the affect everything had on my mother and little sister. thanks once again for the great comments that everyone had,i truly appreciate them

Hi everyone!

This is Heather's mom. It's hard to believe that so many years have gone by since this movie was made. Harder even to believe that people were still watching it a year ago. For any of you out there who have gone thru the same or similar kind of situation, please know that there are people out here in cyberspace that do understand completely how you feel. Our thoughts and prayers are with each and every one of you.

Not very believable
natt-25 January 2001
Warning: Spoilers
*Spoiler warning*

First of all I rated this movie 2 out of 10.

The idea is good, but there are too many stupid errors in the movie, failing to make it the psyching drama that it might have been. First of all she never fights alone. After an initial very strange doubt from her mother (which is not believable when the mother proves to be so supportive and loving later in the movie) the rape victim is not alone.

She is also unbelievably naive always falling into the Crew's strange traps.

Her friends are unbelievably nasty.

The thing that I find most unbelievably is that Ethan fails to control the crew when he changes his opinon. Ethan is very much the leader of the Crew (hey, they even say so) and people seem to think the other guy is a jerk, but when Ethan changes his opinion he just doesn't manage to convince even one single person in the Crew that he is right and that his former friend is wrong. Everyone just simply hates him... why?? The movie provides no explanation. How did he ever become the leader?

A funny note is that my girlfriend thought I was watching Beverly Hills when she came in. Two actors from the same successful TV-series.... a cheap way to get viewers?

One of its kind
BettieTeese26 November 2004
I enjoyed this movie, and after watching it,it made me wonder just how many 'Caitlin Rose's' exist in the world. How many other girls have been subjected to this sort of sexual abuse, and torment by classmates and have been too frightened to open their mouth about it? Just how threatening and cruel can teenagers be towards one another, because as this film demonstrates, who's right is not foremost important, its who is popular, and feared which manipulates the minds of youths, and influences them to allow this sort of immorality to happen.Tiffani Amber Thiessen gives a powerful performance as the rape victim, and Brian Austin Green is convincing as the guy torn between the girl he thought he loved, and his best friend. This is the kind of film that doesn't get the exposure it deserves.Remarkable, and brilliant, too good to be just a film made for TV.

I just finished watching this and I don't know why it hurts my heart like it was an amazing movies great actors great storyline but something about it just hit home. The whole small town scene really got to me and just everything about this movie made me feel a type of way and I wound up crying when I wasn't even expecting to. I like the ending how Ethan gets what he deserves but at the same time I'm kinda sad that Caitlin and his relationship had to go that way. Tbh idek what I'm saying this was just a great movie I even had to make an account just to leave my little review here and let y'all know this was worth the watch...

loved it, think u mite 2 (warning if u haven't seen this film there are spoilers in here)

Warning: Spoilers
this story is quite sad, it centres around Caitlin Rose (Tiffani Amber Thiessen), a high school student who is desperate to get into 'the crew' a group of popular kids at school, her friends are already in this group, along with the guy she has the most momentos crush on, Ethan (Brian Austin Green. they surprise her with a fake prom, and Jase is supposed to break her in, though Ethan beats him to it, which as you can probably guess Caitlin has no complaints about, though because of this Jase gets jealous and his actions bring Caitlins newly found world down around her. she is subjected to hateful bullying including cutting her hair off, nasty mentions on the toilet walls and the front of the school. this story outlines how Caitlin manages to stand up to everyone in the town she lives. This film is one that you will laugh at, cry at and show most emotions, a definite 10 out of 10

When does "Boys will be boys" cross the line?
SusieSalmonLikeTheFish24 December 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Caitlin lives in a small town, your typical American Dream type of place where everyone knows everyone and The Crew (football team and most popular girls in school) can have fun and goof around any time they want. Caitlin was conceived in Wedlock and is a high school teen living with her little sister and single mom, and desperate to be one of the crowd, she never speaks against the football team... but when Jace, one of the football players, rapes her at home, Caitlin finds nobody on her side, not even her own mom, until finally her mom believes her daughter. With the help of a strict but concerned older teacher and a top-of-the-line lawyer, Caitlin and her mom try to stand up for her reputation in a town where no one will listen.

I really found myself looking at my own town when I watched this; in Canadian military small towns, the hockey guys can get away with nearly anything; rape and even worse actions are often swept under the rug and it starts even as early as junior high school. I hate sports myself, I think it's a waste of time and money and an excuse for morons to coast through life as if they own the world. Watching this movie, it seems that my town isn't the only one in North America where "boys will be boys." Tiffani Thiessen was amazing in this movie; playing the role of a teenager who was sexually assaulted would be a very difficult role to throw yourself into but just as good was Isabella Hofmann, who played Avon Rose (Caitlin's mom). The soundtrack wasn't bad and the plot raises awareness of an issue often just covered up.

Good made for TV movie, but horrible ending!!!
rmmk20 October 2003
This was a great movie but it had the worst ending I think I have ever seen!!! The actors were great and displayed wonderful talent. The entire story was twisted and unexpecting, which, is what made it entertaining. As good as the movie was, the entire film is judged by the ending, which was terrible! Maybe a sequel could eliminate this bad ending.

She Fought Alone is a rarity of a made for TV teen movie that's really good. It stars two of my favorite actors from 90210 Brain A.Green and Tiffani Amber Thissen in roles very different from David and Valerie. I actually felt the pain Tiffani chacracter went through.

How far will you go?
nina_no128 April 2005
Warning: Spoilers
Excellent story about teenagers, leaders, high school football "stars". How far will you go to protect your friends? Lie, kill? How much can You lose if you stud by an innocent girl? Can love beat the odds? Can you defeat narrow-minded small town people? When your friend scores and you "lose", will you do everything in your power to make her pay for it, or will you be a man about it, and respect her right to chose? Will you rape her and show it as your victory over a "problem" girl? Can you stand by the one who's only sin is to have an opinion of her own, to be able to make her own decisions, to chose for herself? It made me think twice before giving my judgment about who was right and who was wrong, but one is for sure - very disturbing movie and theme in general. Thumb up!

An Interesting True Story.
famousgir127 September 2001
She Fought Alone is a true story starring the cool Tiffani-Amber Thiessen and Brian Austin Green. Thiessen plays Caitlin, a young girl who just has been raped. When she tells people what has happened, no one believes her and they just end up treating her like dirt. One guy does help her though, Ethan played by Green.

I thought the movie was very believable and the cast including Thiessen, Green and Isabella Hofmann who plays Avon Rose all give great performances. The true story movies are all really good and they're always very interesting, including this one.

Lifetime Movies are my Favorites

The movie is basically centered around this girl, Caitlin, and her struggle for justice. Many obstacles stand in her way, the most important and dangerous obstacle being a group of kids called The Crew. The boy who raped her, Jase, is a member of this elite group and denies it completely, dubbing Caitlin as a slut. A relationship soon developps between her and her 90210 co-star, Brian Austin Greene, which helps her keep hope and fight back. A fantastic movie which I would watch every day if it were possible. If you can find this one, watch it.

A worthwhile movie
drumr15813 October 2002
This movie starring Tiffani-Amber Thiessen and Brian Austin Greene is a bit cheesy, but good. It's a typical made-for-tv movie, so one shouldn't watch it expecting award-winning performances. However, the story that the movie tells is a good one. The plot is well thought out, and this movie DOES have it's suspense moments. You end up feeling a longing for the characters to get what they deserve. Watch it if it's on during a rainy weekend when nothing else is on. You probably wouldn't watch it otherwise, but you'll end up loving it after you watch it!

As far as TV movies go,this measured up
sasha-3231 March 2000
I have seen this movie 3 times, and I have no idea why. Don't get me wrong--the first time was great, but after that, well there is a reason why you can't rent this movie. Thiessen--in better roles than the current ones she's been in--plays the older looking teen(the classic tv movie sitch)who gets raped by her "boyfriends" friend who lusts after her, and the whole town then turns against her b/c the two guys are star athletes.

I would have liked this movie had there not been 20 others like it. 7/10 for acting, 1/10 for originality. See it when its on, if you're bored.
