Did You Know?

Trivia

The Sailor Says segments at the end of each episode did not exist in the original episodes, nor did the computer graphics that make the screens change [like the big tiara forming]. The Sailor Says segments were removed in seasons 3~five when a new dub, CWI, took control. See more »

Goofs

When Rini fell on the ground, a boy said she wanted to show her something. When he took off his shorts, he said "I wear Sailor Moon undies!" In the next shot, his underwear is plain white. He was most likely just making a sarcastic joke (the dialogue was changed for the edited dub, because in the original Japanese version, he is not wearing underwear at all, and refers to his penis as his "little elephant.") Crazy Credits

The original American dubbed version contained the phrase "From a far away place and time, Earth's greatest adventure is about to begin" in text at the beginning of the intro. Curiously, about 10 episodes in, this was dropped, and the first screen of the intro was just the same background with no text. See more »

A favorite among the anime crowd
31 May 2006 | by (Flower Mound, Texas) – See all my reviews

I'm guessing that most of the current fans of anime remember this one fondly... I know I do.

I watched this for the first time not knowing that this was even anime; several years later, I find myself trying to find all the episodes I can of this excellent series.

I'll admit: this show is not without its flaws. The dubbing was pretty bad, but it WAS entertaining, and the monster-of-the-day thing was kind of tedious, but fans remember stuff like that.

Flaws aside, this was an excellent starter anime for the States.

8/10
