Miramax Ramping Up Production, Taps Zanne Devine

14 January 2014 9:07 AM, PST | Variety - Film News | See recent Variety - Film News news »

Miramax has hired veteran producer and executive Zanne Devine as executive VP of production and development, signaling an expansion for the company.

The move comes a month after Miramax signed a 20-year deal with Harvey and Bob Weinstein for co-production and co-distribution of movies, TV and stage for titles in the Miramax library such as “Shakespeare in Love,” “Swingers” and “Good Will Hunting.”

Devine reports to Miramax Chairman Thomas J. Barrack, Jr., and Miramax CEO Steve Schoch. She will lead content acquisition, production and development for Miramax, overseeing both film and television.

Devine has been working with Miramax for past three years as a producer and strategic advisor on Martin Scorsese’s “Gangs of New York” TV series; Robert Rodriguez’s “From Dusk Till Dawn” TV series, currently in production; “The Ninth Life of Louis Drax” written by Max Minghella; “Mimic” from writer John Shiban and “The Prophecy” with writer and director Gregory Widen. »
