Naseeruddin Shah to do a cameo in Begum Jaan
Veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah will be seen in the upcoming film on partition Begum Jaan starring Vidya Balan in lead role. The film will have him in a special appearance. Talking about the same, producer Mukesh Bhatt also revealed that though it is a small role, Naseeruddin Shah's character is pivotal to the plot. Reminiscing about the days he worked with this talented actor in films like Naajayaz and Sir in the 90s, Bhatt also added that they wanted to approach Shah only when they found a role that would suit his calibre. Begum Jaan is a remake of the critically acclaimed film Rajkahini and will be directed by Bengali filmmaker Srijit Mukherjee. Set amidst the backdrop of partition, Rajkahini is a story of a group of sex workers who try to protect their home (a brothel) as ruthless politicians and high profile men decide to destroy it for their selfish motives.

Devgn projects a wide range of screen personas
