I would place it at the midway between a drama and a gangster movie.I guess nobody went to see it when it was released in Paris in 1996. Nobody, except perhaps me...What a shame. It deserved better. The tale of a young hood who goes to jail and there meets bigger thugs. Real ones. The characters are really well described, the director emphasizes on them very well. The sequence that really stroke me is when the men are in the cell, in jail, and when they dream about their live, their future live, when they will be rich...Dreams...I almost cried.A sad story, but realistic. The young hood is poignant. But I am not surprised that the mos of people did not see it. People are so silly.
