Finally Released
18 August 2008 | by (seattle, wa. USA) – See all my reviews

I saw this movie at the Seattle Film Festival in 1995 and it stayed with me as one of the better films I've ever seen at that festival. After 13 long years, this finally gets a release on DVD. The Film to DVD transfer is pretty poor and the DVD is remarkably low budget but I guess you can't fault the company for taking a chance on a film that never received wide release. Mushrooms is pretty funny with some clever writing and some gross but cute horrors and gross-outs. Lots of good laughs and a pretty good cast of nobody actors I recommend it to indy comedy fans and maybe even horror fans though there really isn't any 'horror,' just cannibalism.
