Trivia

This movie was the first "original" aired by The Sci-Fi Channel (now Syfy). It would be a few more years before they started advertising their made-for-TV movies as "Sci-Fi Originals", but they did advertise this quite a bit as new and never-before-seen. See more »

A wonderful piece of art.
30 September 2001 | by (Germany) – See all my reviews

Don't expect great fx, fast paced action, big budget settings, not even sci-fi. So what's left you ask? A piece of art with a surreal, dream-like ambience, wonderful music by Tomandandy and some of the deepest, most brilliant dialogues yet in a movie.

Together with 'Killing Zoe' and 'Pulp Fiction' this film clearly shows Roger Avary's extraordinary talent. It is a little bit like 'Star Trek - The Next Generation': To some it may seem cheap & cheesy, to others it's pure wisdom, wrapped in a sci-fi story for easy consumption.

Give Mr. Stitch a try - there's a good chance you'll love it for the same reason you love your favourite recording: that special feeling.

It's a shame it isn't available on DVD...
