The content of this page was created directly by users and has not been screened or verified by IMDb staff.
Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that, instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, you use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

Sex & Nudity

One Scene is a tiny bit sensual, Mr. Holland has lit candles. While laying on the bed he is kissing each one of his wife's fingers during their romantic time. Later in the movie she tells him that she's pregnant.

Violence & Gore

Some mild violence in a comical way:

Student Drivers run cars into curbs and fly around while Mr. Holland teaches them to drive.

Some other reckless driving by characters.

In another scene Cole as a 15 year old has a black eye but the incident that caused it is not shown.

Profanity

Three gestures of a**hole and at least one verbal use

Several dammits and one Goddamn

Several uses of hell

One use of Bullsh*t

Some smoking is shown in the 1960s scenes.

Some parts could be emotional to some viewers.

Young kids such as under 5 probably need to be supervised, but other than that it is a family friendly movie.
