Thriller with some bile, some sex, and a surprise ending., 26 August 2001
Author: johnbernardbooks (johnbooks@e-velocity.net) from Ontario, Canada

Tim Matheson is a charmless actor, and a bit long in the tooth to embody a football hero. The object of his affections, Mimi Craven as Allison Miller, has a boney profile and fails to be a great siren. Their sex scenes prove inert, but the fight scenes show some heat. In a secondary yet colorful role, Garvin Cross plays one of the most feckless and effeminate private eyes in the history of film. Matheson as Tyler Grey knows trouble in this movie...even before it begins since his wife divorced him for another woman, and his weakness for alcohol and drugs, though he refuses to smoke tobacco, placed him in rehab about as often as on the football field. Then the movie progresses, murder rears its ugly head, and his problems deepen. Stephen Mendel portrays a homicide detective with a minor gift for rhyme and a major gift for rancor, most of it aimed at Tyler. The movie ends with a not totally predictable surprise.
