Director Dan Golden said one of the reasons they filmed in the Philippines is because they had crazy stuntmen who would do anything for a few pesos.
Most of the filming took place in a working gravel pit just outside of Manila to look like a devastated Earth. They were blowing things up during the day, so every time an alarm blared, the film crew would stop until the blast went off. Director Dan Golden said working there "was a pain in the ass."
Dan Golden said producers wanted a lot of nudity but on a very tight budget. Filipino actresses would get totally naked for very cheap, but producers didn't want to cast Filipino women because they didn't want it to look like it was a very cheap film shot in the Phillipines, even though it was. Golden searched locally for non-Filipino women willing to be nude, but didn't have any luck. He finally convinced producers to let him cast American actresses he'd worked with before he knew would strip naked and flew them over.
