Moviefone Presents 'The Best Songs In Cinema' For Spotify

11 April 2012 3:04 AM, PDT | Moviefone | See recent Moviefone news »

Sometimes, all it takes is one song to make a film memorable: Stealers Wheel's "Stuck in the Middle with You" playing during Michael Madsen's ear-carving scene in "Reservoir Dogs," Peter Fonda and Dennis Hopper cruising along to the tune of "Born to Be Wild" in "Easy Rider," Angela Lansbury telling us to "Be Our Guest" in "Beauty and the Beast" -- just three of the hundreds of thousands of memorable musical moments witnessed by movie audiences over the years. To celebrate the history of music in cinema, Moviefone has put together a highly entertaining -- albeit, completely random -- Spotify playlist for you to enjoy at your leisure. There's everything from the "Ghostbusters" theme to "Hakuna Matata" on this big-screen music mix. (And don't worry, there's some current stuff on there, too.) You can check out the playlist below. Enjoy! »

Leslie Feist, Michael Buble Big Juno Winners

2 April 2012 9:39 AM, PDT | Huffington Post | See recent Huffington Post news »

Toronto -- Indie-rock songstress Leslie Feist took home a Juno for Artist of the Year on Sunday night, and jazz crooner Michael Buble's holiday-themed "Christmas" claimed the prize for Album of the Year at the 41st annual Canadian music awards ceremony.

Feist, best known for her whimsical 2007 song "1234," which became an international hit after it was featured in an iPod nano commercial, might have surprised some with Sunday night's win since her contemplative fourth disc, "Metals," wasn't nominated for Album of the Year.

Feist's big win brought her Juno tally to three for the weekend, and 11 for her career.

"I just need a second," she marveled as she stepped to the microphone, shaking her head from side to side, looking stunned, as well as stunning in a red, lace dress.

"I'm just in shock. ... I guess all I can really do is try to express some genuine gratitude. I can't believe I'm standing here. »

'Anonymous' and 'Twilight: Breaking Dawn' Top This Week's New DVD and Blu-ray Releases

7 February 2012 5:00 AM, PST | Rope of Silicon | See recent Rope Of Silicon news »

Anonymous The fact this is hitting DVD and Blu-ray and no one has really seen it and Columbia has done very little to encourage people to see it is a bit frustrating. As someone that loves and writes about movies you want the good ones to be seen and I can tell you this is a good film. I don't know what it was that scared Sony into releasing it into only 513 theaters at its widest release, but I guess that just stands to mean it will be a small gem found on DVD and Blu-ray.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 This one actually doesn't arrive until Saturday, February 11, but I'm sure young girls all across the country are already queuing up to be the first to own the first part of the final film in the Twilight franchise in which nothing happens and Summit makes millions of dollars as a result. »

'Drive' and 'To Kill a Mockingbird' Lead This Week's New DVD and Blu-ray Releases

31 January 2012 8:16 AM, PST | Rope of Silicon | See recent Rope Of Silicon news »

Drive Would you look at that, my #1 movie from 2011 is on DVD and Blu-ray and it is arriving just as quiet as a church mouse. Does anyone know this is hitting shelves today? Have you seen any marketing? FilmDistrict bungled this release in an impressive fashion, but then again, how do you sell a dark, anti-hero film to today's Add audiences? I guess one way would be to make an advertisement that said something to the effect of, "On over 100 year-end top ten lists" and then quote Rolling Stone or something like that. I mean, isn't that what the people supposedly pay attention to?

Nevertheless, this is a must buy if you ask me. I can't wait to own it myself.

To Kill a Mockingbird (50th Anniversary Edition) Now this one I have seen advertising for. Go figure. And I've also had the pleasure of watching it and it is stunning. »
