Hart to Hart's tribute to our beloved Max, played by Lionel Stander who passed away in 1994. Two hart's In 3/4 time is set in Montreal, Canada and guest stars Joan Collins. The Hart's, after the reading of Max's will are led around Montreal opening letters and enjoying gifts/experiences that Max planned for them.
Jennifer and Jonathan get to meet friends and family of Max's along the way...including Francis X Gaylord, "What's the x for?"..."Expensive". Max has an artist friend custom make the Hart's a beautiful Bavarian Cuckoo clock because "When you two met, time stood still."
This was a bittersweet tribute to Max, who "liked giving so much that living with him was like Christmas 364 days a year" and who was famous for after having been told "Max, you know you're a great guy?" Always responding "No, but hum a few bars and I'll fake it."

When the Harts visit Montreal to accept a clock left to them by Max, their recently deceased friend, the timepiece becomes the centerpiece of a case involving blackmail and murder. Ah man - with Lionel Stander gone, these movies have lost a bit of steam. But hey - Joan Collins!
Here she plays Lady Camilla Ashley, who may seem to have the world at her feet, but who is dealing with a duplicitous boy toy. There's also an appearance by Max's niece Marie who has man problems of her own. And her partner in an antique shop Vivienne is actually the one sleeping with Lady Camilla's husband Ronny, which leads to secret papers being shoved into the clock Max wanted to give away.
This episode was written by Donald Ross, who gifted us with Hamburger: The Motion Picture, and Matt Crowley, who wrote the play The Boys In The Band and also provided uncredited rewrites to The Eyes of Laura Mars.

My least favourite of the 'Hart to Hart' film series, up until this point at least.
I didn't sense the usual charm with Robert Wagner and Stefanie Powers as much in 'Hart to Hart: Two Harts in 3/4 Time', they are still the most noteworthy things about these films but I didn't find them as enjoyable here. Not helped by the plot, which is very bland; despite the presence of Joan Collins. The ending is particularly uninteresting.
The first from the series' first six offerings that I've found a chore to sit through, that's not to say the preceding productions are good - they aren't - but they at least kept me watching without any negatives.
