Months before I knew I’d be taking the Goof beat in EW’s trip down ’90s nostalgia lane, I came across A Goofy Movie while channel surfing and began watching the whole thing with more enthusiasm than I remember ever feeling when I first watched the TV series. At the time, I wasn’t sure if that was because it had been so long since I watched the show, or if it was one of those rare occurrences where the movie was better than the series from which it originated.
So is A Goofy Movie, which follows the father-son »

In last week’s battle round, The Voice paired unlikely opponents — too unlikely, if you ask me. Tuesday’s duels made much more sense: Blake Shelton selected his sweetest dames, Christina Aguilera matched up two satisfied Jessica McClintock customers, Adam Levine pitted his freak-flag color guard members against one other, and Cee Lo threw together all the pageant hair left on his squad. So who prevailed? Who took a tumble in the oversize boxing ring of improbable dreams? Let’s rank the four duet winners from “likeliest to win the show” to “likeliest to win a ham sandwich at a state fair. »

[1] We have the first image from A Monster in Paris, the Luc Besson-produced, Eric "Bibo" Bergeron-directed animated film due out in France later this year. Although posters and concept art for the movie have made the rounds before, this seems to be the first picture from the movie itself. The plot revolves around a monster terrorizing early 20th century Paris, and the locals who band together to stop him. But, as you might guess from the image, the monster isn't exactly what he seems to be. See for yourself after the jump. [2] [via Bleeding Cool [3]] Obviously, we are dealing with the kind of monster that has a heart and wants to be loved, as opposed the kind that's driven by an insatiable compulsion to maim and kill. A Monster in Paris has been in the works since 2007 or so, and has had its release date rescheduled several times. From what I can tell, »

I have a litany of memorized movie quotes seared into my brain. And if you’re like me, you’re constantly looking for opportunities to “regale” friends or family with your talent, to the point where they’ve ladled their ears and eyes full of hot candle wax. Luckily for my acquaintances and (what’s left of) their orifices, my zealous fandom found a new outlet last week – Yoostar2. It’s an upcoming “movie karaoke” game due this March that I got to preview hands-on in Hollywood.
The Yoostar videogame series captures your image, movements and voice, and you effectively »

Kevin Lima (Enchanted) has long been a Disney guy, but now he's got a project with Disney rival Sony Pictures Animation. The film is so tip-top secret that there's not even a bluster about the simplest of premise, just that "Mystery Science Theater 3000" writer David Sussman is working on a script and that, until that script is turned in, it's not officially greenlit. Lima and Sussman are working together already on a pilot for an animated TV series about a family who lives in New York City. Lima would produce and direct the secret Spa project.
Lima began his career working as an animator on films like The Little Mermaid and a director on A Goofy Movie and Tarzan and according to IMDb is currently is working on The Mouse House's 2012 animated film The Snow Queen. Lima was attached to direct Candyland for Universal which has not gone into production. »
