This is a somewhat touching film due to the fact that the original Godzilla dies. It also should be noted that with this film the entire Godzilla series (Hesei as well as Showa eras) comes full circle as he fights a foe created by the very thing that destroyed him in the first film. Unfortunately, it is somewhat undermined by some rather poor special effects. However, the story is pretty decent as it not only is about the end of Godzilla, but it also has an underlying theme of rebirth as is seen in the end when Godzilla Junior absorbs his father's lingering radiation to become the new "King of Monsters". This film may be flawed, but it is still pretty good.
