Interesting exploration of Muslim culture in France, 6 September 2001
8/10
Author: Brian Ellis from Chantilly, VA

Very good film examining racial and religious tensions in France. I think that film will mean a lot more to one versed in French life, because some of the jokes were lost on me. The film didn't preach any particular message, it just showed all facets of life as a Muslim in France in the `90's. To keep the film from being overbearing it was interspersed with humor. The scenes of the women in the airport bathroom were especially enlightening to me. The film also shows that mothers are the same in all cultures.
