There’s something conducive about musicians becoming actors. Perhaps it’s attributable to the performance-based nature of their work – going out on a stage, entertaining millions of folks, putting on a show… The number of musicians who have transitioned to acting and done so successfully is a surprisingly large pool. David Bowie, Justin Timberlake, Will Smith, Elvis Pressley, Frank Sinatra… The list goes on. Harry Connick Jr is not often mentioned alongside such flashier personalities, but the singer/songwriter has quietly built up a steady resume of eclectic performances be it as a serial killer in Copycat or as the romantic lead in Hope Floats. In this week’s Dolphin Tale 2, Connick Jr reprises his role as Dr. Clay Haskett, the lead marine biologist of the Clearwater Marine Aquarium. Much of Connick Jr’s scenes are centered on the imbalance of at once running an aquarium while at the »

We recently found out that Zack Snyder's Batman Vs. Superman themed sequel to Man Of Steel had gained a trio of talented new cast members: 300: Rise of an Empire's Callan Mulvey, The Wolverine's Tao Okamoto and Academy Award winning actress Holly Hunter (Always, Raising Arizona, Copycat, Thirteen..among many others). Although it was pointed out in the official press release that "all three actors will play characters newly created for the film," many feel this won't be the case, and have begun to speculate on which established DC characters they might be playing. The Latino Review lads always have their ears to the round when it comes to this type of stuff, and according to them.. "We think Holly Hunter is going to be playing Leslie Thompkins, or a Leslie Thompkins replacement character." Batman fans will surely know who this is: In DC lore, Thomkins is a »

Wednesday (March 12) night's "American Idol" is officially called something like Soundtrack To Our Lives, which is what we're calling this year's permutation on the always-confusing Music From The Movies theme, in which singers go through contortions to justify performances from songs which, indeed, may have once popped up in a movie at some point. Several of the songs teased by "Idol" for tonight actually *do* seem to hail meaningfully from movies. I can't quibble with "Skyfall" or "Falling Slowly" or "Sound of Silence." The idea that "Sweet Home Alabama" fits the theme is a complete cheat but... That's how this goes! Click through and follow along! 8:01 p.m. I'm pretty sure that "Ocean's Eleven"-themed opening was produced by somebody who never watched either version of "Ocean." 8:02 p.m. More close-ups of the audience, please! I want to see all of the people who will be clapping off-the-beat tonight. »
