Alicia Silverstone Launches Eco-friendly Beauty Line

30 May 2012 9:11 AM, PDT | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Alicia Silverstone is branching into beauty - she's released her own line of eco-friendly skincare products.

The Clueless star has teamed up with bosses at Juice Beauty to develop her own range of organic soaps, lotions and make-up.

And the actress, who follows a vegan diet, insists her Alicia Silverstone for Juice Beauty products are almost good enough to eat.

She tells BellaSugar, "When you go to put things on your face, you want to treat it the same way as (the food) you're eating.

"Our bottles are actually made from 95 per cent recycled material. Anything that was going to end up in a landfill has been reused and repurposed for these bottles. The ingredients are like shea butter, avocado, sesame seeds, champagne grapes, passion fruit, fruit juice, aloe vera - really yummy, good, nourishing ingredients. There's nothing harsh going into your skin, yet they perform just as well as everything else out there."

Silverstone hopes her collection will encourage fans to make healthy lifestyle decisions.

She adds, "You can get really overwhelmed with all the choices out there. But when you have some sort of guidelines - like, 'I don't want anything unhealthy, and I don't want it to hurt the planet, and I want it to be amazing and be delicious and work great' - well, here's your answer." »

FM Radio Song of the Day - Clueless (90s Teenage RomCom Week!)

21 May 2012 11:25 PM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Up and at 'em, Philm Phans - it's good ol' Jr, the Prophet Jerry Ross, here on FM Radio.

First off, let me apologise for yesterday. A Jaiger bomb at 7:35am isn't the best way to kick off the week. But what I won't apologise for, Charlotte [Editor's Note: Mrs Ross], is shouting at your d***** h***ing l***** of a "best friend". The guy's an idiot. Why the heck did he even come round Saturday afternoon? I can put up shelves, too, you know.

Anyway, my wife aside, here's part two of 90s Teenage RomCom Week! Radiohead's Fake Plastic Trees, as features in Clueless. Which is what my wife must be, thinking that z*** comes round for the tea and biscuits.

Remember - we take requests! Email in with your name, song and reasoning, and we'll give your track a spin!

Ana Gasteyer talks 'Suburgatory' season finale, takes EW Pop Culture Personality Test

16 May 2012 7:26 AM, PDT | EW - Inside TV | See recent EW.com - Inside TV news »

Mother’s Day might have been last Sunday, but the people of Chatswin are celebrating it on tonight’s season finale of Suburgatory. And since the ABC sitcom is set in the suburbs, Mother’s Day is a big deal that, rather fittingly, is wrapped into a big contest amongst the town’s wacky constellation of characters. “It’s a full-town competition to prove whose mother is loved the most,” explains star Ana Gasteyer, who recently was upped from recurring to series regular for playing quirky, perfection-obsessed mother Sheila Shay. “There’s this totally asinine situation, with just days and »

A Classic Movie Fan's Dream: 2012 Summer Film Classics at the Paramount

15 May 2012 11:30 AM, PDT | Slackerwood | See recent Slackerwood news »

One of the best things about living in Austin is getting to attend some of the classic films that screen each summer at the Paramount Theatre. The full Paramount Summer Classic Film Series schedule has just been released, with movies screening at Stateside this year, too.

Here are some from the bunch I find worth noting:

Pillow Talk (1959), pictured above, helps start the summer series off -- screening with the far more serious To Kill a Mockingbird. Although I've been a fan of classic movies since elementary school, it is only in recent years that my love and admiration for Doris Day has grown. This comedy, featuring Day as an interior designer forced to share a party line with playboy Rock Hudson, is now one of my favorite movies, and I can't wait to see it on the big screen! Tjff 2012: ‘We Need to Talk About ‘Dorfman’

9 May 2012 10:43 PM, PDT | SoundOnSight | See recent SoundOnSight news »

Dorfman

Directed by Bradley Leong

Written by Wendy Kout

USA, 2011

After her mother dies, Deb Dorfman (Sara Rue), a timid accountant, has to live with her perpetually grumpy father (Elliot Gould) in the San Fernando Valley. A hopeless romantic, Deb is irreparably enraptured with Jay (Johann Urb), her brother’s war-zone reporter friend.

When Jay needs someone to cat-sit while he’s doing a piece in Afghanistan, Deb jumps at the chance, moving into his flat in downtown Los Angeles where the city, and some of its inhabitants, become a catalyst for her metamorphosis.

Justin and Taegan discuss.

Taegan: Dorfman is really lighthearted, well intentioned and inoffensive. It has a lot of Jewish jokes, which is sometimes excluding. At the screening, people were laughing at jokes and words that completely went over my head. I can see why it’s featured at Tjff.

Justin: I felt pretty lukewarm about it. »

Today in “yes, really”: Suburgatory’s Jeremy Sisto releases solo album as his hobo clown alter ego

7 May 2012 1:33 PM, PDT | avclub.com | See recent The AV Club news »

Jeremy Sisto has some range. A bratty creep in Clueless, a traumatized detective on Law & Order, a bipolar artist on Six Feet Under, a newly suburban city dad on Suburgatory: He’s gone in a lot of directions throughout his acting career. He even played Jesus in the 1999 TV movie Jesus. But he may be going James Franco on us. First, he named his son Bastian Kick after saddling his daughter with the moniker Charlie-Ballerina. Now Sisto is releasing an awesomely weird solo debut album, Escape Tailor. The title comes from Sisto’s musical alter ego, the Sasha Fierce »

Clueless

1 May 2012 12:31 PM, PDT | JustPressPlay.net | See recent JustPressPlay news »

There was a time when I used to consider Clueless the female-friendly version of Dumb and Dumber; while guys would gravitate to the Farrelly Brothers’ masterpiece of brilliant stupidity, girls would do the same with the shallow, selfishly shortsighted manipulations seen in Amy Heckerling’s Clueless. However, I eventually learned that comparison was unfair to the sexes, but more importantly, unfair to the two films in question. Dumb and Dumber has found universal appeal that Clueless never achieved, because the latter gets stuck on the idea that valley girls are stupidly selfish even in their altruism and bases its comedy on dated references and fads. Consequently, it loses any capacity for widespread appeal and doesn’t stand up to repeat viewings more than a decade down the road. Heckerling put a timestamp on her comedy and by that gauge its sense of humor has long since expired.

Clearly, fans were excited about the prospect of ABC’s Suburgatory bringing Clueless cast mates Jeremy Sisto and Alicia Silverstone back together – and this time the boy gets the girl. “It’s really fantastic,” series creator Emily Kapanek tells The Hollywood Reporter of Silverstone. “I think that they have incredible chemistry. I don’t think that’s gone. I think it’s there. It’s right on screen. It’s really fun to see. I think this is a very grown up and unusual situation and storyline that we’re playing out with them, though. So, that part of it has been really fun.” Video:

Alicia Silverstone and Bird Feeding Her Son Bear by Chewing His Food (Video) Clueless Actress Still Defending

'Clueless' actress Alicia Silverstone is still defending feeding her son food like a bird and says she thinks others just don't understand this is how it has been done for thousands of years and the practice is fine. "I can understand that it would make some people feel uncomfortable, possibly, because it's new to them," Silverstone told Entertainment Tonight last week (per TV Guide). "But I do want to let you know that this has been going on for thousands of years — still going on all over the place — and it's natural." The 'Clueless' actress revealed earlier her unorthodox method for feeding 11-month-old Bear - which involves chewing food then spitting it into the youngster's mouth - and says she can't believe the uproar it's caused because it is a natural way to feed babies. She said: "People have been feeding their kids that way for thousands for years. »

Washington, Apr 27: Alicia Silverstone opened up for the first time since her baby-mouth feeding video sparked controversy online, saying she doesn't "regret" posting the clip.

Many mums were turned off by the short film of the 'Clueless' star chewing her 11-month-old son's food and then spitting it into the baby boy's mouth - but she insists she doesn't regret going public with her premastication technique.

"It's a part of the weaning process, so while I'm still breastfeeding, it's just a way to introduce him to food," Contactmusic quoted Silverstone as saying. »

Alicia Silverstone Has No Regrets About Baby-feeding Video

26 April 2012 6:26 PM, PDT | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Actress Alicia Silverstone has faced the camera for the first time since her baby-mouth feeding video sparked controversy online.

Many mums were turned off by the short film of the Clueless star chewing her 11-month-old son's food and then spitting it into the baby boy's mouth - but she insists she doesn't regret going public with her premastication technique.

Appearing on news show Entertainment Tonight on Thursday, the actress says, "It's a part of the weaning process, so while I'm still breastfeeding, it's just a way to introduce him to food."

But Silverstone can understand why so many modern mums were shocked by the viral video: "It's new to them, but this has been going on for thousands of years and is still going on all over the place; it's natural."

And five per cent of women polled in a new TV survey agree with the star - because they've tried premastication.

The health-conscious, vegan actress adds, "I don't regret posting the video, but I didn't expect it to do what it did... I've had nothing but great feedback." »

The Intern's Lot: A Conversation in Film with Rob Thomas

By Mario Hernandez

I had the opportunity to join the Austin Film Festival at their sold-out event for "Conversations in Film with Rob Thomas" on Wednesday, April 18 at the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum. For those unfamiliar with Thomas, do not get him confused with the lead musician for the band Matchbox Twenty because this Rob Thomas writes screenplays. He's the creator of the critically acclaimed television show Veronica Mars, and on Wednesday, he spoke about creating a television series from inception to completion using his series Party Down as a case study.

I was the first person to show up to the event at 6:20 pm. The Aff staff was still prepping their setup, but once they were ready, I checked in and formed a line for the event. I met a wonderful couple from Arkansas named Raven and Nathan, and our conversations about Hitchcock, Wes Craven and »

Cher Horowitz is back at a San Fernando Valley liquor store ... and once again, it's all thanks to Elton."Clueless" co-stars Alicia Silverstone and Jeremy Sisto reunited at Circus Liquor on Tuesday to film a promo for his new TV show, "Suburgatory."  Alicia started a guest-starring run last night.Of course, the Circus Liquor parking lot is where Silverstone's fashionista in the classic 1995 flick was memorably dumped by Sisto's character after she rejected his advances. She was then forced to ruin her red Alaia dress after being mugged.Re-watch the scene below:While Alicia still looks good in red, we're guessing her bandage dress on Tuesday wasn't another Alaia ... but probably from another "totally important" fashion house like Herve Leger.Check out what the rest of the "Clueless" cast looks like today in the gallery above! The passing of television legend Dick Clark caused an outpouring of emotions among celebrities. From President Barack Obama describing the American Bandstand host as "young, vibrant, and optimistic" and a "creative and innovative producer" to Aretha Franklin stating that "if you didn't go on American Bandstand, you hadn't made it yet" to Ryan Seacrest tweeting that Clark was one of his "greatest influences," it's clear that Clark will be greatly missed.

Last week, Mel Gibson and screenwriter Joe Eszterhas were involved in a public feud, with Eszterhas saying that Gibson was a scary, angry, Beatle-hating anti-semite, and Gibson claiming that the screenwriter was a liar. Eszterhas has raised the ante by releasing an audio recording of a screaming and ranting Gibson to The Wrap. While it doesn't contain any anti-Semitic language, the recording is decidedly loud, scary, and expletive-filled, suggesting that Eszterhas's side of the story was »
