So nice...so nice...so nice..., 5 May 2013
Author: sgtking from United States

Audiences have been terrified by horror films on the big screen for decades. Classics like 'Halloween' and 'Poltergeist' have given people nightmares for generations. However, there are also a great number of horror shorts worth seeking out. They may be lower budgeted, but they are no less worthy. Take this little known short based on the story by master Stephen King. Everyone knows who the Boogeyman is and probably feared him as a child. Well child or adult, this short film should make you want to check your closet every night.

Pros: Strong performances. Nice directorial debut for Schiro. He also does well adapting the story. Bone-chilling score. Atmospheric. Steady pace. A few effective shocks. Knockout ending.

Cons: Some choppy editing. Dated.

Final thoughts: We can thank Stephen King for giving us many sleepless nights. That being said, we can also thank him for entertaining and inspiring us. Of course no adaptation is going to surpass his work, but many have been done well. This version of one of his best short stories is a must see for those wanting to be chilled to the bone.
