Five miles below the Earth's surface, a group of scientists is working in self-imposed isolation, perfecting a series of DNA experiments that could literally change the world. Did You Know?

According to interview with Lisa Boyle for Playboy magazine, her character was originally supposed to be dragged away, have her clothes ripped off and get raped and killed by mutant creature in the film, similar to how some of the monsters from other Roger Corman produced film Humanoids From The Deep (1980) would attack and rape women in that film. Reason for that was mostly because producers thought that Boyle's nude and sex scenes in the film didn't include enough nudity for the film. She refused to film the scene and because of her arguments with producers she demand to be listed in the opening credits under her alias name Cassandra Leigh. Because of that producers edited her shower scene from Midnight Tease (1994) into the film so that it has more nudity scenes with her. See more »

The whole Production Meeting: "Hey! Let's do 'Alien' meets 'The Andromeda Strain'!" "Great Idea! - you got $5 - I wanna see a rough cut by Tuesday"
5 May 2005 | by (Highlands of Scotland) – See all my reviews

After 2 minutes into this movie I realised it was another of the endless Alien rip-offs and a unimaginative one at that.

After 3 minutes I wanted all these horrible people to die - horribly.

After 4 minutes I hit the FF button on my remote and held it there (only slowing for the, sadly brief, moments of gratuitous nudity).

Don't bother watching this film. It's a saddening bore, you've seen it ten times or more.

I have now watched both films made in 1996 called "Alien Species" (do I get a prize?) neither of them are worth watching but if I was forced to choose between the two I guess I would have to pick this one - if only for Lisa Boyle naked in the shower.
