Storyline

Rohit Kumar (Aamir Khan) is an aspirant playback singer while Kiran (Manisha Koirala) is a classical singer-in-training, but at inside aims to be some thing like Rohit. They meet, relate to each other's sentiments and fall in love. But when Kiran's parents oppose their marriage, they decide to lead a seperate life. However, after their marriage, Kiran's ambitions take a back seat as she feels suppressed by her household responsibilities and her child's look after. Time fails to abate Kiran's frustration until she decides to leave Rohit and start a new life all over again. Now-a-loner, Rohit is forced to look after both his son and his falling career on his own, and that too at the same time. After some obvious teething troubles, Rohit succeeds in creating a seperate world of their own with Sonu, his son. Meanwhile, Kiran incidentally becomes a huge film star. It's a big surprise." Young and old alike flocked in large numbers to have a look at the stars and have the audio cassettes of the film autographed by them. See more »

simply fantastic display of emotions
18 June 2004 | by See all my reviews

the movie very rightly shows the various problems that may arise in a love marriage and how the life starts getting tougher and tougher.the performances by aamir and mainsha are simply great and aamir deserves an award for the effort.he really brings life into the movie and makes you feel what he is going through.the child actor is also good.all in all a very good movie.one of the aamir's best.this movie gets very emotional when the couple move to court over the possession of the child and here aamir is simply superb.

the director mansoor khan does very well with emotional movies and literally makes you cry and he is fully supported by his nephew aamir. i would rate this movie 9/10 and a must see movie
